Ammo and Availability

By Avrelivs, in Game Mechanics

Just popping in to inform you guys that it doesn't seem that Specialist weapons and weapons purchased via the Additional Standard Kit rules have any extra ammo clips/magazines. Is this intentional?

There also don't seem to be any modifiers for the number of items one is purchasing via Logistics- it seems that if conditions are good, I still stand a chance of ordering a million Best Quality autocannons and such. Also, while vehicle weapons are listed, rules for obtaining the vehicles themselves don't seem to be anywhere.

Forgot to ask earlier- can an Ogryn from a Hardened Fighter Regiment apply the mono-edge to his Ripper Gun?

AFAIK, there areno indications, but this being the Munitorum we are talking about, you probably need to fill in a request for every single piece you want.

But I'd probably use the Black Crusade acquisition bonus/penalties for multiple purchases.

And yes, the Ogryn should be able to apply the Mono upgrade to the "treat as warhammer" part of his weapon. I'd also say that the "melee attachment" should similarly be upgradable.

Mono-edge is a misnomer, and has been described in previous sources (errata most notably) as just as easily being applied to blunt-force weapons. The description of the technology is merely changed.

Or, to quote:

" For example, a hammer with the Mono upgrade is defined as having a pnuemo-shock enhancement. The in-game effects remain the same. "

Helpful?

The only issue I could is the fact that you aren't applying a Mono upgrade to a dedicated weapon. You would have to put a seismic generator (or pneumatic actuator or wtv) in the stock of the gun, so it could pose problem with actually using the gun. Of course, an Ogryn probably doesn't care if his stock doesn't look the same and has and extra button on it to add "more smashy to the puny orkses", and his aiming probably won't be too affected.

Oh no, that's not what I meant. See, the Ogryn's Ripper is a Specialist Weapon, but RAW the mono-edge can only be given to one's Standard Kit, none of which are Ogryn-friendly. I've known about mono blunt weapons for a while now, thanks :)

Under the Weapons Upgrade section, there appears to be no such restriction. I think you are confusing it with the Weapons Customization section, which has one. Although I would allow Ogryns to customize their ripper, as they can't use the other weapons of the standard kit (plus, it's pretty much standard kit for them anyways).

I want the bloody rules for the ripper saw bayonet. I shouldn't have to duct-tape a chainsword to my ripper gun, not saying I won't anyway but I shouldn't have to.

Everybody should have the option of a chain-bayonet. It was one of the most entertaining things in 1st edition, their is a timeless charm in cutting orks with a chainsaw (even in the olden days where going in melee was the worst idea ever).
