My group is about to start a new survival horror-esque campaign based around a slightly shady crew. Anyone have advice on how to play a Reaver without being extremely boring or totally disruptive of the group? This is supposed to be a fairly short campaign so I'll be starting as a Reaver, no gradual break down of my previous personality.
Suggestions for RPing a Reaver?
Ok, since there are no replies I'll chip in.
I find the 'Reaver' a pretty hard class to make a decent PC with. They are, as described in the book, boardering on total madness a-la Firefly, as such that wouldn't make them particularly interesting to roleplay IMHO (unless of course you are simply there to fight it out in encounters) & would also, by their very nature, be a disruptive force for the rest of the crew.
That said, I have seen a PC using the role of a sort of live in crazy, unleashed when he's needed. There was backstory to this but since you're jumping straight in with very little of that I wouldn't worry. If you do have your heart set on the crunch around the class and it's skill set it shouldn't be too hard to proxy the class for one of your own e.g a full on pirate who is using the Rogue Trader crew while it suits his needs etc. If you like the actual IDEA of the 'Reaver-y' fellow, then I hope the rest of your crew knows what it's getting into.
