Ghatanothoa's ability and other question

By Chips5, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hi!

The rules don’t clarifies exactly what happens if you reveal Ghatanothoa's face (beside your investigator is devoured). I can’t find the answer in the rulebook, Ancient One sheet and forums.

The situation: You have 2 neutral visage tokens faceup then you reveal Ghatanothoa's face.

So
- you are devoured. You turn all visage tokens facedown and shuffle them (similar to the normal process after you turn the fourth neutral visage token faceup). This is the way we played.
- you are devoured. You turn the deadly token facedown and don’t shuffle the tokens at all (leave the 2 previously turned up tokens as they are). You actually know where the face is and you have 2 free turns to collect clues, before you have to shuffle the tokens.
- you are devoured. You turn the deadly token facedown and shuffle the unrevealed tokens (leave the 2 previously turned up tokens as they are). You have 1/6 chance to devour again. This is the worst case.

What do you think which one is correct?

One additional question:
If you have to fight a GOO in the Other Worlds by dual color gate cards from CotDP then is this a normal final fight? I know you don’t use Epic battle cards but do you have a normal Upkeep phase before the fight (despite you are in the other world encounter phase)?

Thanks!

After devouring, or revealing four (?) neutral tokens, you turn them ALL facedown and shuffle them. It becomes a 1/8 chance again.

Seconded. And as to your other question: well, it's somewhat unclear. Personally, I would say that you do get an Upkeep phase, simply because it would be devastatingly difficult otherwise.

Oh, didn't see your other question. Yeah it's a "normal" final combat. No Epic Battle cards, and you get an Upkeep and everything, and their effects on you (max loss and item/trophy loss) is permanent. As far as using "other" abilities, such as using Mandy's or Leo's abilities when they are not part of the battle, I allow it, but only once (since they have not experienced multiple turns).

I agree on that. You have to have an upkeep phase to have a chance of winning. There wouldn't be any point in having the battle otherwise.
