I might try this in an upcoming game with small forces. I play with my wife and let her pick out an army first and tell me the point total which I then match - usually it's between 150 and 180 points. I wanted to see if I could hit hard with artillery with a small points number, and came up with the following army:

----- Combat Platoon (97)
Upgrade: Additional Resources (10)
Command Section: "The Boss" Ranger Command Squad (25)
1st Section: "The Gunners" Combat Ranger Squad (17)
Support: MCW M2-F "Steel Rain" (45)

----- Combat Platoon (54)
Upgrade: Additional Resources (10)
Command Section: Bazooka Joe (15, Hero)
1st Section: "BBQ Squad" Assault Ranger Squad (21)
Support: "13 Foxtrot" Observer Team (8)

I'd probably stick Bazooka Joe with the Observer Team to extend their longevity. With this army I should be able to get 7 off-board artillery attacks plus several Steel Rain attacks in, all for just 151 points. The ground forces aren't terribly strong, but they'll have a lot of support! :-)

Can explain how that works? I see both command sections can do "Long Tom Attacks." I see you have two radios that could use Steel Rain's artillery attack. What else are you able to do??
