Pasadena Regional (June16th) Results and Stats

By mathlete, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

There were 32 players at the Pasadena Regional on Saturday, June 16th at Game Empire in Pasadena. If you're ever in the Los Angeles area, be sure to stop by Game Empire. The store has friendly staff, lots of games and a huge play area. One of the best stores that I have evr played in.

Outside of the 57 at FFG's Days of Ice and Fire event, California had the three-most attended in the United States. KingdomCon on April 14th had 32 player, Kublacon on May 27th had 30 players and this one had 32 players. The other California Regional, Fresno on May 12th had 18 players. Way to go Team Cali! You guys rock!

I had a great time at the event. Even though I went 2-3, I think my first 5 games EVER playing Targ-Kingsguard was a success. I hope we can do some more awesome events at GE.

what is going on with House Baratheon??

Was the Valar Morghulis CP legal in this regional?

am i the only dumbass that had to look up where pasadena is?

Congrats on the win, Mr. 'Thlete! Glad to hear it went so well. Wasn't there a 5th California regional? Or did that one get cancelled?

I'm curious to find out what number of unique players there were between the 4 "big ones," and much the same with the 4 biggest upper Midwest, and central East Coast events.

There were 5 california regionals, yes. They had 32, 32, 30, 16 and I think Fresno had like 24?

I can do a rough estimate of the number of unique players we had over the 5 events. Give me a few minutes to tally it.

My guess is about 60 unique people for all 5 events.

Pasadena had 32
Kublacon brought 15 more unique players
Fresno brought roughly 5 more
SF brought about 3
That right there is 55. I assume maybe 5 or so more unique players at kingdom con, but that's just an estimate.

Yea seriously, the Rose Bowl, the Rose Parade, JPL, ZANKOU chicken. How can you not know where Pasadena is? ;)

I personally have never cared enough to look it up on a map. Knowing it's in California is satisfying enough! gran_risa.gif

I had a great time… and wrapping up the night at the pub awesome! Thanks for posting the tourney details, Mathlete, and congrats on another hard-earned title!

Also, I don't have the exact details on the rest of the tournies but I checked the Fresno roster and it looks like there 8 "uniques" out of 18 players total.

I was half asleep the whole time but that was fun. Hope I can manage to get some rest before the next one. I can't believe I actually had some wins! Congratulations to the winners.

Nicely done all! Way to go Mathlete. Of course you had to win 2 Regionals this year, in case any of us other winners started to think we could hold a candle. Awesome job!

Personally, I love that there are so many Regionals, giving so many opportunities for a Champion. I am waiting for the year when someone attempts the sweep!

I have heard of none of that except the Rose Bowl.

Laughing Tree is infatuated with Zankou Chicken.

I'm trying to do a rough count between MN, IA & MO. MN had 51 for Joust, and only 1 Iowan made it to both events. He was the sole "crossover," IIRC. That would add up to 72. And of the 24 at Iowa, 10 attended MN or MO. So that's 86 uniques in the MN/WI/IL/IA/MO/OK region + plus a valiant crew of Canadians, 1 Bostonian, and 1 Floridian.

I'll be interested to see what percentage of Chicago went to MN, IA, MO, and Cincinnati tourneys. I don't think there was any overlap from the latter at any of the former.

I wish we had more participating (and densely populated) states near us so we could cross over too. Nevada applied for a regional but got shut down. Other than that (and portland) we had nothing west of MN.

Kubla pulled rings from out of state, and kingdom-con pulled a few players from UT and NV. ~Other than that, it's clear the rest of you guys hate us lengua.gif

EVERYONE in SoCal wants to see a regional in Las Vegas next year. A lot of us would have made the trek, and we may have pulled some players from AZ.

There were five total crossovers between OK and MO: Three of them came to ours, and two of us went to theirs.
