Some weapons have Dual in their name, such as Dual Phasers. The stat lines for the walker with dual phasers are the same for the infantry version so other than the Overcharge ability, there appears to be no difference. This has prompted folks I demo to asking are "dual" weapons treated as a single weapon or are they two separate weapons, each with their separate attack dice?
"Dual" weapon question
The word dual is mostly just flavor text as if you had two of the same weapon it would have a (2) in the weapon profile box.
Denied is correct. Ignore the name. If after the name you see "(x)" where x is a number, usually (2), then you multiply the number of attack dice by the number of weapons. Action Jackson and Lara are good examples. If there is no such parenthetical number, such as the Ludwig Walker, you roll only the shown amount of attack dice. The Ludwig's linked 88s are both factored into the amount of attack dice shown on the stat line.
Think of it as dual-linked weapons (Ludwig) vs 2 separate dual-wielded weapons (Lara & AJ). Dual-wielded = 2x dice.

Its important also to note that if you have (X) of a weapon then you can split its fire as you are firing multiples of the same weapon essentially. If you have no (X) its a single weapon and can only target a single unit.
OK, it just seems there should be an advantage for a walker to have 2 phasers over an infantry troop carrying one. Either firing them separately or have the capability of generating more hits.

The 120W Dual Phaser mounted on the Honey does more damage as the Red Devils fielded 60W Phasers.
The 120W does 1/3 damage agaist vehicles where the 60W does 1/2.
The Duel Phasers also have twice the range.
