I decided I cba with doing it. Too busy playing Soul Nomad. But I'll certainly spoil my angle I was approaching with. I'm a big Japanophile, so my character being Japanese is no surprise.

Born to modest family (i.e., of low birth), [name] spends the first several years of his life working as a farmer's son. Goes off into battle one day when the army from the next fief over starts some noise, manages to kill the enemy leader (totally by a fluke, lulz). Is brought into daimyo's castle, trained, Celestial Dawn accepts him, etc. Goes out for a walk one day, sees beautiful girl, approaches her and is rebutted. This girl is Zi Mei.

Begins to follow her around, falls in love with her, etc. But she savagely beats him one day, telling him that he'll never have a chance.

And then White Crane shows up and whispers into his ear that she likes men who are strong, and aren't afraid to do what they, as men, must do.

So he becomes a brutal tyrant/warlord type in the hopes of winning the love of Zi Mei.

I say cba to do it because I was going to write it out like the bios on the main site. Wouldn't have taken but 30 minutes or so. I just don't feel motivated to DO anything today.

Okay I would totally have done the same thing for the CBA due to a paper, but I looked at the due date, and it's only due next week (why did I think it was due this week, oh yes because I'M AN IDIOT THAT' S WHY!) so I worked on my second character, and sent it in. I doubt I'll win, but hey who knows?

Query: Does "CBA" mean the same thing in both these posts?

It flat out sucks I missed this. **** "life" gets in the way of everything fun! Well this contest is the first annual so I guess I have a year to refine my charcters story & such. To think I spent the last 4 days creating the guy for a contest thats over...

Yep, most likely. There's been no official word to that effect, though, so maybe they do have an winner.

Hopefully it'll be a Boards member. Obviously, the chances are astronomical that it will be, but still.

That was totally what I was thinking. Unfortunately for me I missed a part of the contest description and it basically disqualified one of my entries. It made me a sad panda. My other was my favorite though. I think the character fit in really well with the world.

Who actually decides the winner? Is it Hata, or Steve Horvath, or someone else?
