I can't remember when it's gotten that high here. We can get a few days of around 100 in the hottest months of summer, but usually not much more than that.

Swiss rounds were 60 minute time limits. Cut to top 8. No time limit on Top 8. DC Dennis was the only one to go undefeated in the Swiss rounds at 5 - 0. I'm not sure what the other records were. I believe Jonathon was 4-1. I was 3 - 2.

I will try and write up my own tournament report later this week, but I will say that the top 8 cut rounds were brutal. My game against Kyle went 2+ hours and the final matchup against Chris was also 2 + hours long.

I believe nathan playing targ burn kothh was 4-1 and 3rd seed (local guy).

Of the 3 regionals i went to, i think tenn. had the highest overall level of talent in the field. every match i played was not only close, but fun. really all of them could have gone either way aside from a few lucky draws. definitely going back next year (its worth it just to hear those crazy southern accents again). i just hope the heat is a little easier and i can find a hotel room where brown water doesnt come out of the shower

highlight of the trip for me was what i saw while driving to get lunch: two shirtless obese men in full length pj pants spraying each other with a hose to beat the heat. it was like biggest loser / girls gone wild.

ps: the venue this tourney was held in was about the coolest little place ever. im not really into miniatures and comic books but it was a blast just to wander around and look at all the neat stuff.

I apologize for the heat. That is the hottest it has been here in recent memory. It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have nearly 100000% humidity. lol.

hehe, losing did sting pretty bad, but looking back it was the best regionals experience ive had to date. i can wait til next year for my first victory (knockwood). ill be a happy man if all future regionals play out like that one. such drama!
