Enter the ShadoWar Character Contest

By Guest, in News

Welcome to the first annual ShadoWar character creation contest! This is your chance to become a part of history and create an official part of the ShadoWa r universe!

To enter the contest, all you need to do is create an awesome character for the ShadoWar universe, and describe him or her in no more than 1,500 words .

To start, read these documents about the nature and history of the ShadoWar world . You should also review the existing ShadoWar character bios , and use that format—“Vital Stats,” “Origins,” “Personality,” and “Fighting Style”—for your own creation.

The best entries will be characters who are unique, based on ideas we could never think of and that we’ve never seen before. They’ll be creative, showing us the depth of cool things the character can do, and the breadth of adventures he or she might get involved in. Your character should have a trajectory as well as a history, and clarity, quality of writing, and professionalism all count.

While we do encourage you to turn your imagination loose, please remember that ShadoWar is an ancient world without guns or high medieval “technology” like plate armor, and is a world where real-world religions don’t play a part. We’re also not interested in re-skinned versions of existing video game characters or thinly re-worked historical figures. Art and pictures and neither needed nor desired.

Your entry should consist of a PDF (preferred), Pages, Word, or rich text file e-mailed to [email protected] . The first page of the document should begin with (a) your full legal name, (b) your e-mail address, and © how you’d like your name displayed if you win (e.g., “J. Smith,” “James Smith,” or “James T. Smith”). The first page must also include the following legal text, copied verbatim:
