The Scourge + The Brimstone

By sabrefox, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

The Scourge: Any Phase: Kneel The Scourge to choose 1 character. That character loses a M , an I , and a P icon until the end of the phase.
Response: After a character loses an icon from The Scourge, choose and discard 1 card from your hand to have that character gain that icon until the end of the phase. Any player may trigger this effect.

The Brimstone: Response: After a card is discarded from an opponent's hand, choose 1 character. Until the end of the phase, that character gains or loses an icon of your choice.

With both of these cards in play under my control, is it true that any icons stripped by The Scourge can remain stripped since any cards discarded in an attempt to restore them will only allow The Brimstone's effect to re-remove them? I think so since The Brimstone isn't triggered by an effect causing discard (e.g. Corpse Lake), but by the discard itself. Thus even though the discard is a cost, it should still allow The Brimstone to be triggered.

Indeed, the trigger for the Brimstone is met each time an opponent discards for the Scourge, which makes the cards very frustrating together for the opponent.

So , If I kneel the scourge and I target a character with all icons, he loses all icons,

If opponnent discards one card, he gains back all icons or only one icon back, for each card he discards ?

and when he discard card, then comes brimstone in play,… It's this right ?

one icon back for each card discarded, and yes, then Brimstone can trigger.

Don't forget that Brimstone can grant icons as well, so if your opponent does discard a card to keep an icon, you could use Brimstone to give one of your characters an icon instead of re-removing theirs. Or remove a single icon from a different character.

You can also discard your own darkstar to give your opponents character a less that ideal icon back then put Darkstar into play for free. Both cards are a awesome combo.
