The rulebook states that when using an artillery weapon with indirect fire in conjunction with a unit with the artillery strike ability basically it has unlimited range. But… does the unit with the artillery strike ability has a maximun range for determining line of sight? i mean… imagine a walker with artillery weapon on one side of the board and the watcher-radioman unit right at it side, then one target unit at the other side of the table and the terrain between them totally clear: The enemy unit is at 40'' so the walker can't make direct fire to it cause its out of range for direct fire, so it decide to use indirect fire with the radioman that is almost at base contact with it… the radioman has clear line of sight to the unit at 40'', so can you use indirect fire? I dont think its fair, but…
Artillery Strike and Line of Sight (Again)
Yes, you can. Unlimited means really unlimited. At it is also fair, considering that 1st you need a radioman, that means you need at least another unit apart for the one actually firing and 2nd to make an indirect fire attack you have to take a double action (as if it were a sustained attack) with the walker but no rerolls, that means no reactions.
Basically you trade the reroll of the sustained attack for unlimited range assisted by another unit.
Doesn't seem so unfair to me…

Especially when Night Missions, Smoke, and Limited Visability Conditions can make that radioman at least 8 AP wasted.
Touche
(but the radioman has legs and can walk close to the opponent in any case and if he gets killed, well, he was only 8AP worth anyway ;D )

I said what I did to back you up. I actually agree, it is fair. I was just listing reasons why it wasn't OP.
