Take 2 Disciplines and PSi progression

By Granello, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

Sorry for the probably stupid question, but we have a discussion with our GM about the application of the PSI rating rule: PSI RATING 4 "[…] Gain a number of Discipline Powers in any Discipline that you know equal to one-halt your Willpower Bonus…."

We have a Psyker with WP 50, so 1/2 Wp Bonus is 3.
PSI Rating 3 he'v choosed Telekineis
Reached PSI 4, he decide to take a second Discipline (Pyro). At this time the Discipline Powers taked by the PSI rating are 2 (1 at PSI 3 and 1at PSI 4).

When he reach PSI 5 what happens?

In our opinion he takes 1/2 Wp Bonus Powers in all the Disciplines 3 in Telekin and 3 in Pyro, our Master opinion is "he have to choiche only one Discipline and apply the 1/2WP Bonus, the other will not takes advantages fron the PSI increase".

Hoping to be clear in the question, thanks in advance.

Psy rating 5 is the oddball in the book. The other advances give one NEW discipline OR 1/2 WP rounded up in disciplines known (Telekinesis or Pyrokene in your example) + 1/2 WP rounded up in minors. 5 is the only one that does not give any 'free' minors if you stay in a discipline that you already know. Most of the groups that I have played in have 'errated' it in group (houserule basically) to give the same as the other Psy rating advances. I have not seen an official errata for this out there (that does not mean it does not exist).

This homerule errata stays constant when players reach ascended Psy ratings as no where does it show what a Psy rating 7 or higher gets for either minors or disciplines, other than the rating itself.

Thanks, so at PSI Rating 5 you must choose one and only one Discipline (even if you know more than one Discipline) and not 1/2 WP bonus for every Discipline (in my case 3 Powers from both Telekinesis and Pyrokene disciplines)?
For Minor Power we had an arrangement with our master, no Minors @ PSI 5 and that's all…. the question was focused on disciplines powers.

You gain 3 discipline powers, as though you have just purchased the talent "Discipline Power" three times. Pick from any discipline you know. At least that's how i read the rules.

Thanks. I've wrote the post 'cause in the italian and spanish official rulebook the phrase was traduced in this way: "Gain a number of Discipline Powers FOR EACH Discipline that you know equal to one half…..".
