LCG: Who beats lannisters?

By Tian of House Zi, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Heh, I just noticed that Kennon's recent article already was championing Fleeing to the Wall and Rule by Decree as anti-Lannister plot choices. Kennon, is there a way to call up all of your AGOT articles at the MGUinc site?

In our meta, we have Kennon, and his major Lannister love. I myself, a major Stark lover. He has won most of his games, but he can be beat, as I have done it. Lannister built well is difficult to beat, just as any deck is difficult to beat from any house that is built well. As for Stark and Valar, I have played Stark deck's for a long time now, even when Valar was a rare, and I did not own one. I have played with and without one, and I think that they are both useful. A deck without Valar, you must concentrate more on winning challenges, and defeating you opponent with killing them and raising claim. With valar, you kinda have to be careful you don't overdo yourself and put too much on the board and then have to valar. And as someone else pointed out earlier, in Stark, Valar can be a very offensive plot, Stark has got some saves, and can raise claim like no other house can. With Robb, Winter is coming, and if nothing else, on their challenges, pull out a Lethal Counterattack, and then you have cleared the board again with a 0 claim plot, which is not very common. But the Lannisters can be beat, the gold and draw advantage to them does suck majorly, but you gotta use that to your advantage. Try and pull a Rule by Decree on them when they have a ton of cards is a fun one. The characters, just gotta kill them, or make a better defense deck, to try and keep up your defense and offense against all their characters onslaught.

Oh crap, that's a good question that I haven't thought of. I'll have to ask Jeff (their webmaster) if some kind of archive of past articles is possible.

Lol, and I'm glad someone noticed my anti-Lannister treatise. Be on the lookout this week for some thoughts on playing Lannister. Who knows, that might provide more useful insight for people looking to beat them as well.
