Nebelwerfer Barrage - AKA - 20 AP Burned

By Shadow4ce, in Dust Warfare

Anybody ever get any mileage out of this? Whenever I've seen it used, the Allied opponent made sure it was wasted by deploying all their soldier units in such a way that at least half the soldiers in each unit were in cover, thus nullifying the barrage. I suppose on could argue it dictated their deployment, but is, "forcing" your opponent to put start with all their meaty targets in cover a good idea when you on average out-range them and can start killing/suppressing them better if they are in the open in the early game?

Thoughts and discussion welcome, but I think this Platoon Upgrade is the worst 20 AP an Axis Player can spend.

Agreed. Though im not real impressed by any of the axis platoon upgrades anyway, except extra panzer maybe. I could see implacable being useful when you have Off Target Shelling going and are running apes and dead guys but that's not garunteed since in the Battle Builder your opponent might move the Condition to Secured area. Improved Command is great if you have the extra 5 points to spend, but thats really it.

Well anytime you make your oppenant do something he does not want to do is generally, in my expereince, a good thing. You are taking the inititive whinch is never a bad thing.

Now I will say that it does seem a bit pricey for what it does. Axis range is one of the advantages that helps a lot. But if the enemy is hunkered down hiding from a bombardment that frees up your troops to get into a better position at the start. Or allowa you to start taking out models, especially if he sets a unit up in such a way that allos one poor slob to take all the hits.

Thats kind of my point though, it isn't really making them do something they don't want to, unless they don't want to protect their guys from long range shooting. lengua.gif

the Dug in one isnt bad, lets you put a sniper out in the open with heavy cover.

Good point.

I do not care for the N-Werfer as it is 20 points, works once, only causes suppression and can be negated fairly easy just by putting your troops in cover (which I try to do anyways). For 20 points you could buy another squad or hero. Plus it is not nearly as effective as the free Long Tom attacks the allies get every round for one of their platoon options.

If you made it 15 points and gave it a actual attack ability, then I would be good for it.

Also dont like the extra panzer option, for 10 points it is quite pricey. 5 points and I would think about it.

I hope, in the future, to see more options.

Another question, to make sure I am thinking this through properly.

The Improved Comms options says to add another modle with a weapon and radio. So I am thinking it is adding an extra troop making it 6 guys in the squad, is that correct?

Yes, that's correct.
