By IjonTichy, in Dust Tactics

Hi there,

now that the Contest is over, I'd like to invite all participants to upload Pics of their entries here! I'm sure a lot of people would like to be inspired by Your work. And You wanna show it off too, don't you? ; )

Cheers!

I'm gonna start with my Axis entry, the "Jagdläufer"

I've also written some Fluff about it:

Jagdläufer 3t (Prototyp)

The Jagdläufer 3t is a Tank-hunter designed to counter the new threat of SSU Heavy Tanks and Walkers that are frequently appearing in the area of Zverograd. The concept of the Jagdläufer is based on a Superschwerer Laser, that was originally designed as a Naval Gun. The idea of fitting this huge Weapon onto a Medium Walker was introduced by Major a.D. Dr. Helmut von Hoppenstedt, a leading Blutkreutz Scientist and former Tigerace. It's low profile, high speed and hard, long range hitting power make the 3t perfect for ambush hit and run tactics in urban terrain, sniping at the enemy from afar and retreating before the counterattack.
The project was to be abandoned, because the massive Firepower of the Superschwerer Laser came at the price of very high energy consumption. In the field the Gun can only fire app. 6 shots at low strength, or 3 shots at maximum level, before it has to be refitted with new Batteries, which is a very time consuming process.
As he strongly believes in the possibilities of his design, von Hoppenstedt activated all the contacts his status as a war hero could warrant him, and managed to get a green light from the Blutkreutz High Command for a live field test of his walker. Having it shipped from the secret Blutkreutz R&D Facilities in Czechoslovakia directly to Zverograd, von Hoppenstedt personally pilots the Jagdläufer 3t Prototype. His exceptional skills and the massive destructive power of the impressive Superschwerer Laser have proven to be a deadly combination, and a constant threat for both Allied and SSU forces in the area. Despite the constant trouble to gather the resources for his hungry creation, the Doktor is on the best way to prove that his Jagdläufer is a worthy addition to the axis' Kampfläufer-Waffe.

Cheers!

And my entry for the Allies, the Mobile Artillery Walker. Unfortunately I ran a bit out of time on this one, so the painting wasn't finished…

Excelent work! Keep it coming! :)

I've made a video slide show of the scratch building and painting process for the Jagdläufer. Tell me what You think. Any questions, feel free to ask.

That's the pics of my submission, but I make new and better pics for the DUST chronicles magazine. I like the Königsluther more than the Sturmkönig, but they didn't want it.

Hmmmm Odd that so far 3 of the axis entries had the number 003 on them I think there is something going on here!!!

Yeah, there is something going on with the number 003. Must be a conspiracy ; )

The Link to my video doesn't seem to work, here's another try:

Nice job guys.

Great work guys!

I've made a second video for my Allied entry. I ran out of time on that one, so I didn't take as many photos.

Here's the Link:

Cheers!

Where can I find the details and winners of the contest? I've been having trouble finding anything recent about the contest.

Great work everybody!

Thank you for your comments;

My carapace comes from the Airfix kit "Robogear", Major Mishap you're right too.

Didn't really do much for this but I like the look.

I love the look of both. the sturmkonig reminds me of the rifleman battlemech from Battletech and Robotech.

Here's my entry. The first of what will be a whole British-themed Allied force. The main concept was a fast-moving, hard-hitting medium walker which epitomised the British cruiser tank approach to armored cavalry, hence the Desert Rat iconography.

Recipe includes:

  • Tamiya 1/48 Cromwell (mainly for the turret and bits and bobs)
  • Tamiya 1/48 Jerry Cans and Stowage set
  • Academy 1/144 M113
  • GW/Citadel IG Sentinel Walker
  • GW/Citadel Epic Emperor Titan
  • Imai Robotech Armored Valkyrie
  • Airfix 1/72 BAe Harrier
  • Bandai 1/100 Victory Dash Gundam

Needless to say, I'm pretty sure I won't be able to replicate this again, LOL! The hatches are only glued down with white glue and I'd made up some crew members but didn't have time to finish them before the deadline. Now that the rush is over, I'm re-basing it and adding the crew members and more stowage in true 7th Armoured Division desert-veteran style.

Thanks for the great entries - you've all made me inspired to set about bashing together more kits! And thanks to FFG and Dust Studios for a really fun contest. Next up: the walker version of the Tetrarch to support British paras!

Cheers

Byron
