Game not given as much respect?

By SirRunOn, in Rogue Trader

I have a quick question here. Why does dark heresy have all the bells and whistles on the forum and support area and not Rogue Trader which is almost as old?

I can't edit my posts on this forum but I can on Dark Heresy's forums.

Dark Heresy gets a editable character sheet, Rogue Trader doesn't.

Is it because it's an older game? They were doing more stuff for people back then?

I notice Deathwatch has the same deficits.

Am I missing something here? Maybe I haven't looked in the right places? Don't know the right people? I know I could be wrong. Are there other things that DH has that are missed in the later games sections?

thanks for listening

P.S. whaaaa… I complain about it and an edit topic tag pops up on this page… >_< no fair. But I can't edit my other topics here? What the…

I'd say Rouge Trader is a bit more popular. Dark Heresy often gets flack for having the oldest rules, and often not working great, whether true or not. Its continuation, Ascension, is one of the most hated books I've ever seen on a website, even though I rather like some of the stuff in it. Rogue Trader seems to work a bit better, and the party gets a much more "we matter" feeling, with no NPC pulling their strings (most of the time), and with most anything being attainable. Deathwatch is also good, but RT seems to win points for having more than combat; Space Marines CAN do other stuff, but they really don't, as it isn't what Space Marines are for. They can also have a small hickup with some female players; no female Space Marines, so you need to play male, or make something else. This often boils down to a Sister of Battle or an Inquisitor, and neither builds nice, vs. Space Marines. Black Crusade is kinda like Deathwatch to me, and also VERY different in system.

So yeah, RT is rather popular, with the pirate/adventurer feel, a ship of your own, the ability to kit yourselves out, and actually move throughout the entire galaxy. I think so, anyway.
