The Soul Reaver?

By Mjoellnir, in Rogue Trader

What happened to The Soul Reaver? It was announced in early March for "late in the second quarter" (even though without mentioning a year) and we should look out for previews in "the coming months." There weren't any previews and the quarter has a bit more than 3 weeks left. I blame the Imperial Army (Only War) for denying me my not-ugly playable Xenos. sad.gif

I don't see there being a conflict between the two books - I worked on both projects, and neither one interfered with the other during that stage. It's also hardly the first time that sourcebooks and a new core rulebook have been worked on simultaneously.

The only issue I can see is that FFG have, for whatever reason, seriously cut back on 40kRP news and previews of late. Just because there's no news coming out, doesn't mean that work isn't being done. I have no insight as to why there's this absence of news, however.

The problem normally lies with FFG's printer in China or US Customs. The other is that FFG is doesn't warehouse their books to meet a release date (i.e. sitting in the warehouse a few months and then released to distribution to meet a street date) which leaves them at the whims of their printer and/or US Customs. The trade off for this is a lower price for your books.

I have no insight into the inner workings of FFG. It's just that The Soul Reaver has only until the end of the month left to be punctual, free rpg day with the Only War adventure is in the middle of this month and like every good human I'm blaming people I don't like, in this case the Imperial meat grinder. gran_risa.gif gui%C3%B1o.gif
