Soul storm faith power

By jack_px, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

hi i have a question about this faith power, it says that anyone with at least 1 point of corruption is damage by this power, my question is, if the faithfull one using this power has 1 of corruption, will he be damage by his own power???

another question i have is, the rule that powerfull demons (with 50+ willpower) arent afected by this power, only aplies to demons and not to another human ,does it?

thanks in advance.

no one?? :s or my english was too bad? xD

Without actually looking at the book, yes it does do damage to you as the Emperor's light eats away your own sins (and your life). It shod affect psykers wharever the Willpower.

However this power is very unbalanced and I think there must be a typo; I think it was meant to do 1 point od damage per 10 CPs, not 1 for 1.

I doubt that very much, as this power would then never do more than 9 pts of Dmg, something that will not cause serious harm to anyone.

The damage potential is fine. To have access to this power you need several other Faith powers that are pre-requisites, so you need to be a fairly powerful character with many XP under your belt. Compare with the damage output of some similarly tiered psy powers, and you will see that this is not that powerful.

Unless your characters and enemies regularly have a lot of corruption points, in which case they deserve all the burning they get :)

As written, it will do 100 points of damage to a fully corrupt character (such as all chaos space marines) and requires True Faith, Divine Touch, Flames of Faith, Wrath of the Righteous, The Passion, and Divine Guidance. It can be purchased by a Rank 5 Redemptionist for a grand total of 1200 XP.

By the time you're a Rank 5 Redemptionist you will have spent a lot more than 1200 XP. It's a situationally powerful ability, but how often do you meet people approaching the "retirement" limit of 100CP? And if you do, this is the the Right Tool for the Job . It's supposed to be effective, it's like garlic for vampires: Does sod-all to everyone else, but makes those girly goth-wannbees melt like wax candles in the furnace.

woooooow, thats VERY powerfull

mmmmm a question, can total cover, protect against this power? for example, beeing inside a house?, or inside a vehicle?

Would flimsy walls stop the Wrath of the Emprah?

I'd say no, all within range feel the cleansing purge of His sight.
