[BLOG] Dust terrain/table Builder's resource thread:

By Kommissar Zeitsev, in Dust Warfare

I thought it might be useful to have a centralized thread in which we as a community can share products, ideas and inspirational photos related to building terrain and game boards for our games of Dust Warfare.

The idea would be to share links to /pics of products useful for making Dust themed terrain and boards.

For example I just found these propaganda posters by Archer that I think might be useful to add to some Zverograd buildings I have in the works for a little added detail/flavor:

One could also post your own WIP and finished Dust themed terrain projects for feedback, etc.

I look forward to seeing what everyone has to share…

I found this site full of propaganda posters. I hope it can be useful.

That is a great link alien!

I purchased a number of the decal packs (unit insignia, tank numbers & slogans, etc.) from the company in the pic I posted. Once I get them in my hands I'll post how they are…

I wrote an article with a few links on it that might be useful.

You can also google image search the posters (or any other images) and scale to size and then print em out. a little watered down wood glue and viola!

I'm a big fan or the Archer Fine Transfers, their decals are top quality too.

Here is a link to my Dust Demo Table, in progress for WargmesCon 2012, in Austin.

It's a North Africa/Tunisia Theme to go with my in progress Afrika Korps.

Yeah the Archer stuff is great.

YES I could make my own, but sometimes you have to ask yourself what your own time/materials are worth.

By the time you find the pics, copy/paste them, resize them, print them, etc. Not to mention cost of own paper/ink?

The $4.95 is far less than my time doing all that is worth, especially with all the terrain and miniatures projects I have going.

I would guess that other people might like the convienance of cheap posters/decals that are ready to use as well…

Got my decals in the mail today:

You can't beat archers dry transfers. Just got their FG48017 U.S. WWII RANK PATCHES for my infantry, total of 180 1/48th scale rank insignias for $9.95, also got the German rank patches and crosses and U.S. stars in circles, great stuff.

Got a chance to mess around with the Archer transfers tonight.

It was the first time I had used "dry rub-on transfers".

I have to say I am impressed with how clean they go on and how good they look:

I think they add some nice soviet flavor to the SSU walkers…
