June 9th Regional at the FFG Event Center
Free enty. Very cool. I wish I lived in MN.
Congrats to Eric on winning the FFG EC Regionals.
Any reports? Deck lists, competitors, etc.?

I am sure someone at FFG will post a report somewhere down the line but I can give a few comments.
One of the more notable parts of this tournament is that there were 15 people in attendance (!). The experience levels ranged from beginner to advanced players. A few FFG employees attended as well (though excused themselves before prizes were doled out and the top 4 were calculated). Jim Black didn't make it this year for personal reasons (Congrats to you Jim!) and only note his absence since seeing him at any CoC event at FFG is almost guaranteed.
I came in second and the only deck I lost to was Eric's Syndicate/Hastur tricky rush deck. Since I am a vocal opponent of decklist secrecy and beleive skill to be a better gauge of player ability than the surprises that you can pop upon your opponents, I posted the nearly final deck list I brought can be seen HERE a couple days prior to the event. I played against his deck twice and couldn't manage to wrangle against him as he had a hastur card in response every time he needed it.
I saw a couple decks carrying the Khopesh, but nobody even batted an eye at the tourney when facing one, beginners included. That said, I am still glad it is restricted just because putting it in decks with the likes of Descendent of Eibon, etc. would just be rubbing salt in the wound.
Mi-Go decks were surprisingly strong that day.
The prize support that Jaffer provided was bountiful. The bulk of which were from league night kits all the way back to the original kits for the LCG. I particularly liked the silver plated magnifying glasses that were engraved. The new playmats for this year were especially sexy as well using the art for the Congress of the Keys.
I beleive that everyone who played had a great time overall. With a few exceptions for experienced players.
I know such brevity is hardly satisfying, but that's all I have time before work this morning.
We had 15 players for the 2012 MN Call of Cthulhu: The Card Game Regional Championship tournament. The winner was Eric Bezanson, playing a Hastur/Syndicate rush deck with Diseased Sewer Rats. Patrick Kolarits, Scott Weber, and Mark Anderson rounded out the Top 4. Patrick ran a Cthulhu/Yog deck (as he posted above) while, surprisingly, both Scott and Mark ran Mi-Go decks!
Of the 15 decks, four of them featured the Khopesh of the Abyss as their restricted card, two ran Diseased Sewer Rats, two ran Things in the Ground, one ran Nyarlathotep, and six featured no restricted cards.
Overall, we saw the following breakdown of factions (in no particular order):
Hastur/Syndicate - 1
Cthulhu/Yog-Sothoth - 2
Shub-Niggurath - 2
Mono-Cthulhu - 2
Mono-Syndicate - 1
Mono-Miskatonic - 1
Miskatonic/Syndicate - 1
Agency/Cthulhu - 1
Shub-Niggurath/Cthulhu - 1
Shub-Niggurath/Yog-Sothoth - 1
Yog-Sothoth/Miskatonic - 1
Agency/Syhdicate - 1
Taken altogether, a fairly diverse assortment of decks, to say the least.
I don't think you can get more diverse than that! Sounds like a great time was had by all, with excellent prize support and attendance, and it's nice to see such a strong turnout for the game.
I'm most interested in the Mi-Go decks as they're a personal favorite. Is there any chance they'll be posted online?
