Turn Order

By Sickboy1386, in Dust Warfare

Hey all.

My friends and I are starting to pick up the game and after reading through the rulebook one thing that confused me is order of activation of units. It just does not seem clear to me. Do you activate units all at once or alternate unit activations with your opponent?

In the Unit phase, the initating player will activate all their units, one at a time, and then the responding player will activate all their units, one at a time. Activations do not alternate.

Basically it works like this:

Roll for command pool/ initiative

First player goes through command phase using their pool of orders

Second player goes through their command phase using their pool of orders

First player starts activation phase and goes on unit at a time activating a unit that unit will use all its actions as the player sees fit then they move to the next unit (during this time Second player may REACT to first players actions following reaction rules in the book)

Second player then performs their activation phase similar to first player ( First player may now also react to Second players actions)

Things to note as this tends to trip people up also is the player who goes first even if they activated a unit and used all its actions can still react as long as that unit does not have suppression or a reaction token from taking an order. Basically they get to react for free, it can be a big advantage at times.

Thanks for the help it makes a lot more sense now.
