Sold out?

By Skyjack, in Dust Warfare

I tried to order the book and some minis and my FLGS guy said everything he ordered for me was sold out waiting for more. He tried two different warehouses.

I suppose the lesson here is if the guys at D6G like your product you better make sure you make more.

Yeah, I've been noticing certain miniatures going out of stock at online retailers and not coming back in stock.
And my own FLGS just doubled its stock of Dust Tactics/Warfare stuff over the last few weeks - so they are clearly expecting more sales. They used to carry almost nothing, and now they have some of everything released in the last 6 months or so.

Good to see that Dust is clearly taking off! :-)

Its a great sign. My online retailer is always selling out of boxes and getting them back in again and selling them back out again, but I have afew different links if I need something right now and just can't wait. My LGS only had the revised core set and warfare rulebook and two campaign boxes on Monday as he wasn't sure he wanted to carry the whole line. We played a demo game on Monday playing with my models and he loved the game. Another guy that was watching spent the whole time with the core set box and rulebook asking me questions about it and what came in the box, if it made a legal army, etc. I showed him how it made 2 legal armies. He was interested in fielding a platoon of gorillas and/or zombies and was looking at the campaign box that had Marcus the gorilla in it as well. When I left, he had both boxes flipped over and the rulebook open. When I went into the store today to grab some paints, the boxes were all gone and the owner was showing me the space on the wall where the dust stuff was going to go and had already moved the scenery stuff to make room for it. I hope he can stock the stuff soon because when a friend of mine heard the prices for the boxes, he got jacked and is dying to build an army of his own and is already talking about buying 2 core sets.

Its fantastic that it is doing well. If it makes money, FFG will continue to support it. It is their first big miniatures wargame and they probably didn't know how popular it would become and are playing a bit of catch up while at the same time trying to get the big SSU launch in gear. I wish them all the best as I love this game and I love the models and I really do think that FFG will provide solid support for it in the future… Or at least I hope so!

I don't think we can really take the credit . . . we just have good taste in games gran_risa.gif I think other than the vocal minority, this game is getting great responses on almost every level. Around here even hard core 40K tournament players (one of the top players in the country), and he loved it. Not everyone is jumping in and buying models, but the responses have been very positive over-all. On the other hand, I've only got a pool of thousands upon thousands of gamers all over the world to draw from for feedback . . . so what do I know? gran_risa.gif

Rest assured, Dust:Warfare fans, the overwhelming global response has been very , very positive. It's not perfect, and there are things each of us would have liked to see done differently . . . but so far so good!

And lest we forget, in almost ALL other wargames EVER, the core rulebook, when it first comes out, is full of models that are weeks, months, or in some sad cases YEARS away from release . . . and here, although some of them are DAMNED inconvenient to pick up, they ARE out there! :)

Wow I think Craig is being a tad modest here. Granted the product needed to be good. However D6G got the word out. I listen to lots of podcasts about games. I first search for a podcast about games then I listen to one or two episodes to see if I like it and it covers the type games I like. D6G was different they covered mostly miniatures games (mostly from what I could tell at first). I listen to Dice Tower, Game on with Cody and John, Little Metal Dog show etc etc. I had played miniature games even had some armies but Eurogames are my passion. So D6G was not the show for me. However I was enjoying it. I thought to myself I will let it get one more episode, and another and another. This show is so well done. Then I discovered on occasion they do cover Euros. Then my 9 year old really started liking summoner wars. I thought maybe he is more into dice affair type games. D6G came along with a game that might be minis but simple rules, Uncharted Seas. I got some minis for a very low price because the FLGS wasnt moving them. He loved it. I thought well we need something land based. D6G again Dust Warfare. I picked up Tactics and he loved it. D6G is a force in the hobby not dought in my mind. So Craig can be modest all he wants. I will brag for him.

DUST shortages are really bad here in australia I'm pretty sure I managed to get the second last Core for sale core rulebook in the country. Apparently whenever another country suffers shortages the Australian stock get's diverted there. All the rulebooks are gone and half the miniatures are out of stock. All I can say to that is good job FFG.
