What are you guys running with?

By Denied, in Dust Warfare

I am curious what everyone's list tend to be and how they seem to be working for you all so far. I will kick it off I have only been able to get in 150AP games so I am running the following:

Bluetkruez Platoon:

C: Sturmpironere: 25
1st: Axis Zombies
2nd: Laser Grenadiers
S: Sniper Team
S: Sniper Team
S: Henrich (+10 Extra Panzer Support)
H: Angela

I find Angela with the Snipers does a great job at laying down suppression to allow my Zombies to get in and crush face against what have you. And Henrich is a nice anti light walker/ infantry unit. Overall all my units have been doing very well.

I try to mix things up a bit every time I play, but I generally play Allies and tend to take a smaller number of stronger units and max out on heroes (possibly even using platoon upgrade to get more.) I win initiative more this way, and find my squads have more staying power as they're hooked up with heroes.

We have been mixing it up a lot trying to get a feel for all our units since the game is still fairly new to us. I have not been running the same list over and over but I have noticed that the zombies seem to be more effective if you run them in the groups of two. Even with good suppresion etc they tend to get eaten up in my experience if there is only one squad of them to worry about.

We normally play 350 point games. We do it so that we can run 3 platoons should we want to, or have room for a heavy walker if we want to, etc. And it also allows us to jam in a platoon upgrade should we want to have one and change up the tactics from game to game so that it isn't "Oh, I'm playing Burns today, I know what he is bringing so I know what to do against him…. what do you mean your BBQ squad has the airdrop ability? They didn't have that last time… **** you Burns!"… or "where is such and such unit? Your army looks smaller today… what are you taking out of your case? Is that a Konigsluther heavy walker? **** you Andrew!" Oh well, they still can't take on my Steel Rain, Pounder, Blackhawk and all those heavy jump troops… me loves me some rocket fists! lengua.gif

Still trying to get a feel for what I like. I did enjoy the Combat/Assault platoon mix I did last game, I may stick with that for a bit. Weve been doing 300 points strictly since release.

So Far at the 300 point level, I have been liking to use 4 walkers, 2 light and 2 mediums, and mostly armor 3 infantry. I have yet to face a heavy walker though.

Hey Denied, dont think you need to take extra panzer support for your 150 list. With the Sturmpioneers leading you get access to an extra sniper or Beobachter team so so thats 10 more points.

We've been running 200 points here at our LGS.

My force is currently :

Blutkruz Platoon

Command : Sigrid von Thaler

Laser Grenadiers

Laser Grenadiers

Heavy Laser Grenadiers

Zombies

Laser Mech (Its early, i'm at work - I dont remember its cute name)

Sniper Team

Angela

While it has been a bit of a blow to move from Tactics Lasers to Warfare Lasers after getting a few games in they aren't that much worse. Sigrids squad has still managed some amazing rolls while charging up the field much to the sorrow of my esteemed allied opponents who were busy wondering where all their light and medium mechs had vanished to.

He has to take the extra panzer upgrade because he only has three sections.

I havent had a chance to try these idea's out because i only just got the medium tanks and extra troops a few days ago but i made a few list one i like is my Panzer Attack. The first battle i ever got to play was a 150ap, this was what i fielded, next to the Panzer Attack.

Comm: Kommandotrupp 25 Comm: Kommandotrupp 25

1st: Laser Grenadiers 21 1st: Battle Grenadiers 17

2nd: Battle Grenadiers 17 3rd: Heavy Laser Grenadiers 35

3rd: Battle Grenadiers 17 4th: Recon Grenadiers 17

Sup: Ludwig 40 Sup: Hans 25

Sup: Ludwig 40 Hero: Lara 29

Sup: Luther 30 Total: 148

Plat: Extra Panzer 10

Total: 200

My first Battle i won. Lara proved to be the Hero she is, i put her with the Hvy Lasers and together they took out the allies Boss, sniper team, and a wounded a Gunners team. My Recon was able to get in behind his Pounder and took it out, surprised as hell it happened. But my Hans was destoryed first round and his honey wasnt much help, bad rolling. But by the end i lost my Battle Gren and my Hans, but he lost his Honey, Pounder, Boss, and sniper team. he still had another gunners team and a recon team but conceded the match to me.

Here are my 300 point "No Heroes" lists:

I'm totally going to run a, "Zero-Hero" DW tourney soon, just to put it on our FLGS event board, lol.

Zero-Hero gran_risa.gif I am liking that term as well. I wish I came up with it… Of course I am going to steal it though cool.gif

I've been running a 'not-quite Zero-Hero' list:

Schwer Platoon:

Heavy Kommandotrupp

Heavy Recon Grenadiers

Heavy Flak Grenadiers

Heavy Laser Grenadiers

Support:

Sniper Team

Ludwig

Blutkreuz Platoon

Sturmpionieres

Battle Grenadiers

Recon Grenadiers

Zombies

Zombies + Grenadier X

Just about 300 points (not gonna do the math right now), and has performed quite well so far . . .

I think Allies are better for Zero-Hero lists, Axis heroes are just too much of a force multiplier to pass up for their point costs.

I play Allies and I actually prefer more heroes, rather than less. Squads like The Hammers and the Hell Boys aren't going to survive long enough to do much unless they've got a hero attached, and I've found The Chef to just be a blast to play. There aren't the same crazy combos that Angela can give you, but that's just one hero. Rosie plus Sniper squad can be awesome too, and I'm looking forward to trying Action Jackson with Officer Corps - - at 6" these guys ignore both cover AND armor and roll a lot of dice… not bad at all.
