Dobbler's Dating Disasters

By Dobbler, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

So, two weekends ago my ex-wife invited me over and asked that I bring some cards and re-teach her how to play.

So I brought over the core set, she played Targ, I played Baratheon. I proceeded to let her win while re-teaching her the game.

Questions:

1) Does this make me the best ambassador for the game ever?

2) Kennon calls me the dream slayer. Yet I let my ex-wife walk all over me…does that still make me the dream slayer?

3) If she showed up at a tournament and won, would I get man-points or lose man-points?

Probably. Is she really interested in the game, or just trying to reconnect with you?

~If your using slayer in the Samwell Tarly sense, then yes. :)

Everyone gets man-points for playing this game. Even the women.

P.S. I thought your dating disasters came to an end a while ago based on comments on 2C1C…this thread title might be a bit misleading. Are you dating your ex-wife? I'm all for reconciliation, though.

Sadly I was mistaken, my disasters have not come to and end. And no, my ex-wife is not interested in me.

Sorry to hear that, man. This forum is full of bromance for you. We're all cheering for you.

~She's just using you for your Raven cards.

I just laughed out loud in my cubicle.

~Considering she has already used me for my Lannisport Treasuries, it wouldn't surprise me

1. Pretty sure it makes you the Tytos Lannister of the game….

2. So many good jokes that I want to make here. Instead, I'll just point out that Dreamslayer is a title. It should be capitalized to give it the full glory and horror that it deserves.

3. Hey, she's already kicked my ass with Targaryen legitimately, though it might have been a few years back.

So did she actually come & play at the regional? I still remember facing off against her at the MO regional back in Aught Five. And how scared I was to have a VED Red Viper with 10 power on him.

1. I'm struggling to think of a better match than Tytos, but it's not like there's a lot of divorce to reference in ASoIaF. Perhaps it's makes you Jorah and her Lyonesse?

2. Man, I'm just going to stop before I get in over my head on that. I'm not sure which is worse, the self-referenced walking-upon or the fact that Kennon gave you that nickname.

3. Forget man-points, I think we should adjust the tournament scoring system to grant you second place. (Kinda like the old Dune board game, where the Bene Gesserit could "steal the win" if they'd correctly named the player and turn that "almost" won the game). Speaking of the Sisterhood, she didn't use the Voice on you, did she?

As someone who has referenced not only Dune, but that board game, you get my seal of approval. Wear it well.
