Read everything I could about WFRP 3e online,.. for a few weeks,… Bought WFRP 3e through my local gaming store for about $80 bucks,… read ALL the books MANY times,… Play tested the mechanic by myself several times,…. started building 3d terrain for "a day late and a shilling short",.. completed 3d terrain for "a day late and a shilling short",… started building a COMPLETE 3d terrain system for "an eye for an eye" including dirt road, perimeter fortress walls with guard house, a carraige house w/ 2nd story, a 3 stall barn, a fordge with fire and table, a garden shed, a "shrine", a house for the dog trainer w/ 3 fenced dog runs, a garden, an orchard, a pond, and a FULL two story hunting lodge with ALL the rooms and the rooms are FULLY furnished and appointed,………………… AND I STILL CAN'T FIND ANYBODY TO PLAY WITH !!! All of this and I have yet to play a real game,…. guess I will be ready when I do get to play one,……
How's this for silly! …….
Meet-up.com Try for boardgame and rpg meet up groups in your area and KEEP POSTING.
When my regular group balked at the 3e system (and I realized I didn't want to cater to rules lawyers), I started a 2nd group and it took a few months to get it stabilized with regular players. I just kept an ad up regularly because even when you get started, there's always turnover.
Another thing that works is to start up a "Pathfinder and WFRP group seeking players" post on meet-=ups or "Call of Cthulhu and WFRP group seeking players" meet up. Start with that in mind to get them to your place..and START them in WFRP or the other if you need to. Getting a group together is the first step. IF you put out the ad with more than one game system, and start with WFRP when they get in the door, you're more likely to atttract a more diverse group.

I got roped into Emirikol's group through the Paizo message boards. And I am very thankful for that! ![]()
Flyndad, you sound like a very motivated keeper! Hang in there and it'll happen!
Pics! Give us the pics!
Also, if you want to get an online game going there is a great community here:

Hi Flyndad,
I understand your disappointment as I was in the same boat. 6 months after I had bought WFRP3, I hadn't play much of it (although I had convinced by wife, sister in law and bother in law to play EfE and while they enjoyed it, they live 6h away…). That's why I started the online community that Gitzman mentioned.
Here is the direct link to the online group: WFRP3 Virtual RPG. It is also in my signature. You'll need to register before to join, but once in, we will show you how to install and run Maptool or Fantasy Grounds II for WFRP3. You can be player or GM or both. The group has now 39 members, and we will soon be starting a series of short adventures.
It's not WFRP3 at a table, it's missing the snacks, but it will get your WFRP3 fix for the time being
. It surely got mine!
Cheers

I second the call for pictures! This sounds amazing!
Also, I feel your pain as I have all the stuff ready to go and no players (or more accurately, a demanding toddler and no time…).
If you want someone to help I suspect it may help if you tell us where you are?
(Though as I'm in the UK and the set cost you $80 I'm guessing that (sadly) we aren't geographically compatible…)

Yeh, join the online group while you wait to find some local guys. We have regular games running in which you can create a character here and play in any adventure run by any League GM, if you want to GM even better! If you don't know how to play online we can teach you and if you give me the "i don't know how to use computers" you clearly have never met Angrydragon from these forums, I sometimes wonder how he even finds the power button and he's been playing with us online for 8 months (don't worry, we still love you Tony).
WOW!! Thanks for the advice guys,.. I WILL be joining your online group. I have a post with the "Birmingham area tabletop group" on meetup.com, but have yet to make it to one of their 2nd saturday of the month meetings. GITZMAN !!! I have ALL your stuff and have posted about you several times at various locations on the net. …. Don't know if ya remember but I am the guy with the Warhammer Quest 3d dungeon "Death below Karak Azgal",…
WARNING CAMPAIGN SPOILER !!!! Eye for an Eye !!!! WARNING!!!!! I WILL post some pics as soon as the terrain is complete,.. I still need to finish the ladder to the roof and the tunnels and alter chamber,.. and then some minor landscaping touch-ups. I have combined paper models with hand built custom models with woodland scenic terrain to create what has turned out to be a pretty dang cool looking replica of the entire estate. It is HUGE!!! takes up a 4' x 6' table in the garage and is just begging for some serious players,…
I had a thought about trading this full terrain set with anyone else that had a nice terrain set for a different campaign once I get a group together and have played through it. Sort of like a WFRP3e 3d terrain campaign setting group ?? where we could trade out the terrain tables with each other once our playing group has run through the campaign,… shipping would be kinda pricey but it would still be a LOT LESS than building every campaign. Don't know if it would work,… too much trust needed I guess,….
Thanks again for the responses,……..
Yea i remember for sure. Im always a fan of modeling and painting and totally dig seeing people work that kind of stuff.
Certainly check out the online community. In fact, we are having some of the guys who put it together on the Reckless Dice Podcast this thursday to talk about waht they have going on there. Should be a good discussion.

Will do my best to tune in,.. internet is a bit unstable out here in the stiks,..
Hope to have satellite net service running soon,…
Hey flyndad,
Being in the same boat as you are (in the sticks), I use a mifi device (mine is verizon but other cellular providers offer it too). It uses 3G (or 4G) signal, is cheaper than satellite, and better upload speeds. It works to play WFRP3 online and most internet usage, except video/heavy download stuff. When I need that, I go to my in-laws ![]()
Cheers

I have tried them all,.. the only service that even works is virgin @ $50 mo. and it does NOT get 4g speeds. If I had to guess, the spped would be -2g, and is NOT reliable at all. I would hate to get in a game and drop off for 40 min. I think that would be rude to the other players, but I hope to have it resolved soon.
If your LGS has a game night, that's a great place to recruit a group. Even if it doesn't, you can request to put up a "LFG" flyer in there. I've found that you usually only need one response to such an invitation and that one gamer can often provide a table worth of others.
Another trick, I like, if your LGS has open tables for gaming, is to prepare for a session publicly there just to kill time. When you invariably catch someone's eye, you can talk to them about the game, gauge them as a person and as a player, and possibly exchange contact information towards setting up a session. The biggest trick as GM (and one of the hardest for me), is to take charge of the event. If you're wishy-washy on details, it's much harder to set something up -- though judging by your amazing pre-game, you may have no issue.
That said, that pregame sounds amazing and I would love to see pictures, as well as any play reports on how players take to the props.
