Core Set Questions

By cleardave, in CoC Rules Discussion

1) When you're putting together the resources from your starting hand, do they have to be divided up between your three starting domains in a 1-1-1 format, or could you do 3-0-0 or 2-1-0 kind of allocation?

2)The story card "Frozen in Time"; when it says "…for each resource attached to one of his domains…" does that mean literal resource cards, or by type?

Example;

On a domain I have 5 resource cards, 3 Agency, 2 Misk. U; do I discard 10 cards, as in 2 cards for each resource card (2x5=10) or do I discard 4 cards because there are two different resource types (2x2=4)?

I hope that makes sense, and clarifications would be most appreciated.

1) You must allocate your starting resources 1-1-1.

2) You discard 2 cards per resource attached to each of your domains (not just the resources on one domain, or the resources of a particular faction). So, if you had 3-2-1 resources spread across your 3 domains, whether they were all from one faction or a mix, you would discard 12 cards.

One thing I've always been told about the rules is to read the cards as literally as possible. When it says "resource" and doesn't give any other qualifier, then it means any resource.

Feel free to ask any questions you have about game. I think you'll find the CoC community quite friendly and helpful in these matters.

Thanks for clarifying. Your response also drew my attention to the FAQ, which has it front and centre. I guess what was confusing me was that I focusing on the explanation, not noticing that "one domain" has been changed to "each of his domains", so it makes more sense now.
