I ended up running the encounter as a skill challenge.

THe assasin detonated it's plasma charges for a distraction so the throne agent could escape. It the proceeded to make an attempt on the captain herself. Dozens of guards were slaughterd while the players ran as fast as possible away, nothing could stop it until I reminded them that when they first encounterd the eversor it had been stopped wiht a code word which the throne agent had used, they voxed the poeple in ship survelance who ran through the ships security recordings to find what the throne agent had sayd. The missionary ended up in melee and needed to spend a fate point to survive, the captain got poisoned but then the astropath dominated the eversor and managed to delay it long enough for the key word to be found.

The captain spoke it to the eversor and then the crew flushed it out the airlock.

*applause*

That's magnificent! Well done :D

How did the players react?

Pants were shat in shall we say?

That throne agent's gonna come back for sure to, he works for a renegade inquisitor who now also wants to kill him for failure and the PC's blinded the throne agent the session before he released the eversor to secape their ship. Of course he wont have access to the same reasources as before.

Where it got caught in the ships gravity, cutting it's way through a lower deck and back into the ship. It survives and thrives in the dark decks plotting the destruction of the ship and all of her crew. . .

A very nifty way for a party to deal with something far above them in challenge rating. I commend your team for living, and winning, because if you read through the Ascension stuff here, you will find a small few of us who like the book, or at least some of the ideas, hidden among the scary mechanics, and then you'll find the rest, who wouldn't burn the book for warmth out of fear that the fumes might contaminate them. If you do read, you'll find most of the mostly justified bile thrown at the Primaris Psyker, and the Vindicare Assassin, and while the Eversor is a different Assassin, it should have much of the same problem, with an Invul save effect that never misses, the ability to dodge two digits number times per turn, and almost always hit with its nasty weapons. For being a sniper, the Vindicare could put Neo to shame, blur-dodging attacks, while weaving among, or cart-wheeling over various foes, killing them with insulting ease. If the Eversor can be half as annoying, and itd made for squad kills, then praise be to your crew for making it out.

They were docked at footfall so theres a greater source of gravity there and an eversor cant suvive void any way.

And its still deactivated by it's hypno-programming….
