Seal of the Crown and "Card Effects"

By Syd, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

I wanted to try and get some clarification on Seal of the Crown. Does the condition of players drawing cards through "card effects" include Agendas like Kings of Summer and Knights? I know they are considered out of play, but that doesn't mean they aren't card effects, right? Also, would the title in multiplayer that grants an extra card drawn count as meeting the conditions of Seal of the Crown?

Agendas like Kings of Summer and Knights of the Realm count against the draw cap, so you will have to discard for Seal of the Crown. The Master of Laws title does not count against the draw cap, so it is not a card effect (you don't actually need the cards to be playing with titles, after all) and Seal of the Crown will not kick in, either.

Note that if there are 2 copies of Seal of the Crown in play, each will make you discard after the draw from the other (because each copy is another card from the other copy's viewpoint).

And if there are 3 in play… don't even bother playing. :-) No one will keep their normal 2 cards drawn during the draw phase because each time you draw from one Seal of the Crown, you are discarding 2 for the other 2. It's something that is possible, but silly for the 3rd one to be played. Whoever plays that one should be beaten with a prosthetic limb.

I think there should be an unwritten rule that you must announce if your deck contains this card before a melee. lengua.gif

Lol. Or, if there are already 2 in play, the other cannot be played. If it is played, that player should be given paper cuts with the likes of Ser Dontos Hollard, Without his Beard, and Highgarden Destrier cards. Then pour lemon juice on these inflicted cuts!

Then lose them as a friend. ;-)
