Early Asylum Packs

By fozzie76, in CoC General Discussion

Just starting out with CoC, I've picked up the core set and started with some random AP. I've found that the early AP's only have 2 copies of each card. Are these cards repeated in later AP or do I have to get an extra pack to have 3 copies of each card?

grateful for any advice

Cheers

The first printing of Asylum packs for the Living Card Game format contained with 3 copies or 1 copy of cards. Sort of like 'rare' and "common". Then they decided the players would prefer to have 3 of everycard, and the Asylum packs were changed to that format.

Some of the first wave of packs have been reprinted with 3 copies of each card. Some of them have not been reprinted yet, so only exist as the 3/1 format.

All of the Asylum Pack cycles have been reprinted in the new format (x3 copies of each card) except the Dreamlands cycle. It's still in the old 40-card format that has x3 copies of 10 cards and x1 copy of 10 cards. Unfortunately, no one knows when the Dreamlands cycle will be reprinted in the updated format.

Note that you may find old style Asylum Packs still floating around online or at your local game store. A big clue as to whether or not it's the old or new format is the price. The new format retails for $15 (around $9.75 online), whereas the old style retails for $10 (around $7 online).

Great, that explains it, thanks for your help guys
