Couple questions about the game.

By Dinomime, in Dust Warfare

Hey this game just started picking up at the LGS and the models are great!

After we ran through a few games some questions started popping up.

We understand that if a unit, like the Sturmpioniere, fire into a unit that is in cover the flamethrower in the German unit causes all the guns in it to ignore the cover save. The question is does the flamethrower have to be in range to give the StG's or Panzerfausts this bonus, Could i call a sustained fire action on a unit 12" away and ignore cover because there is a flamethrower in the unit? Or do they only ignore cover when the flamethrower is in range of the target?

Second, do heroes give their abilities to the units they join, For instance does Rhino give a unit of Hammers the berserk rule? or is he the only one benefiting from it. Or if Angela was attached to a unit of laser Grenadiers, do all their guns ignore cover and armor, because of the sniper special rule Angela has? Or do their guns continue working as normal and only her's gains the sniper bonus?

Third, pretty simple, on the Fireball it has 7 armor with 8 in the front arc because of the dozer blade, if a penetrator gun fires at it is its armor reduced to 4 ( 8 divided by 2) or 5 (7 divided by 2, rounded up, then +1 for the front arc bonus)? I guess the question is in what order are armor bonuses applied when figuring damage.

Thanks in advance for the help. If these questions were discussed earlier in the forum I apologize, Didn't read that many threads before posting but feel free to just post a link.

If a weapon can not reach at least one miniature in the target unit than it can not participate in the attack. So no. Page 40 Step 2.

Rhino would share Berserk with Hammers. Page 53 states (Shared) next to Berserk. If at least one miniature has a shared ability, the entire unit has the shared ability. Page 53 Special Abilities. Units with Sniper do too. It is covered in the description of Sniper, but also in the FAQ.

Third Question, I need to think on this one. Good question.

Third question has come up. The math geniuses have declared it that you divide and then add the dozer blade. Nothing official from FFG yet though.

order of operations for Mathz is multi/divide then add/sub… I would venture to say that would be the order for shooting the fireball. I too have thought of this but it hasnt come up in a game yet.

I haven't played with the dozer blade Punisher yet, but I'm grateful this came up, for now I have a better handle on it.
