NOOB question right before I buy the Tactics core set and warfare rulebook…

By thorn678, in Dust Warfare

Do you use the same stat cards for Tactics for Warfare, or is it typical 40k-style flipping to pages to get stats?

The stats cards for Dust Tactics won't work for Dust Warfare, as many stats have changed.

However, there are already full sets of fan-made unit stats cards that you can download and print out.

Oh! Good deal! Thanks!

The warfare stats are different than the tactics cards. However there's already a couple of threads on this forum with some great home brew unit cards.

You can get the ones I made here:

There's another thread where you can find another set that is still in progress, although I believe all units from the Revised Core Set are there.

Yes. The stats sheets aren't terribly helpful for the walkers though, as they don't say what weapons each specific walker has. Still, it's good they've released a bit more in the way of reference sheets.

It's one step in the right direction but I want FFG to release the unit cards similar to Tactics so we don't have to flip our books frantically at games.

Also awesome to use the cards to do unit selection and track unit activation

Come on FFG! You make beautiful cards and boards. Make this one for us!

Bump

So FFG can see this.

/agree

Yes, without a doubt. With th added business blandishment that it would make another product (and not near as difficult as miniatures, production-wise) to sell us. And I would buy it.

I think a lot of us would buy Dust Warfare card sets.

I definitely would, maybe two ;)

Likewise with the warfare cards. If you build them, we will come.

I wouldn't, after what they've done with tactics cards updating them with just minor corrections, and scraping them all together in Warfare, I am happy with home made cards. The ones that 536RodneySmith created are just stunning, I will laminate them and they will be perfect, and I will be able to change them whenever I desire. I paid enough FFG for their shabby work.

Instead of laminating them you could always do what I did and just print them on glossy 4 by 6 inch photo paper. I glued them to the back of the tactics cards but you could always keep them separate if you wanted. I bought the lower gloss variety of photo paper because they were cheaper but you can get ones with a really high gloss. To see what they look like glued to tactics cards you can check out a video that I made on youtube

Woops I posted in the wrong thread what I said >_<

That is a brilliant idea Strombole, thanks, do you think it will be dry marker friendly?

I don't know about the dry marker thing. I put a tiny black mark with a permanent marker on one… its still there sad.gif But I find there is less need for dry erasing in warfare as there is in tactics with markers used for a lot of things (I glued the markers from the support page down onto poker chips and they work great so far). Of course if you like the dry erase functionality, you still have it. Remember that they are glued to the back of the tactics card which are dry erasable so if you liked putting ticks on the card to record wounds for example, the dry erasable tactics card is still there. Flip the card, mark down the wound, flip it over to check the stats, etc., and when the game is over, erase the tactics side of the card again.
