Afternoon ladies and gentlemen.
I thought it might be fun to put all of the community’s lists and comments together in one thread to serve both as a resource for budding commanders and a place to generally draw inspiration. As such I’m asking everyone who's willing to submit their lists, comment on other submissions and generally get the ball rolling. To start, I present two allied army lists I threw together over smokes and coffee this morning.
---------------------------------
Commence shelling list! (200ap)
Combat platoon.
Command section – Ranger command squad
Additional support – observer team
1st section – ranger weapon squad
2nd section – assault ranger squad
3rd – combat ranger squad(with extra bazooka)
First support – steel rain
Second support – steel rain
Platoon upgrade – additional resources
No shock as to the design of this particular list. Designed to have plenty of indirect punch, this list is far more thematic then game winning, yet on its own merits performs relatively well (atleast by my own low low standards). With two units to spot for the indirect fire in the form of the observer team and the command squad, coupled with plenty of infantary to generally hold down a fire base mixed up between close assult and medium range.
Obvious flaws with this list? Well, it lacks anti-tank abilities, and generally speaking may well need to use its indirect fire to deal with enemy armor first, robbing it of those delightful early supression markers.
---------------------------------
Up close and personal list (200ap)
1st Assault platoon.
Command section – ranger attack squad
1st section – assault ranger squad
2nd section – recon ranger squad(dropped)
3rd section – British Para troops
4th section – heavy ranger tank hunter squad
Additional support – sniper
Platoon upgrade – air drop
--------------------------------------
2nd assault platoon.
Command section – ranger attack squad (dropped)
1st section – assault weapons squad
Platoon upgrade – air drop
As for the second 200ap allied list, i wanted to try a far more up close and personal list. With previous attempts as such a list consisting of around 4 asult ranger squads and little else, their performance was unsuprisingly awful due to having no way to keep the enemies heads down. However, adding recon rangers and snipers to the mix helps to keep the enemy down, while having british paras, recon rangers and ranger attack squads being able to drop giving this force a great deal of flexability.
