What kind of Wizard or Priest is in your campaign?

By RARodger, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Not that FFG gives much indication of patroling these boards regularly, but in the vague hope of influencing which POD expansions come out next, what Orders and Faiths are people actually playing at the table?

I currently have a Celestial wizard in my campaign, so obviously that should be the next magic POD released. But what are other people playing?

(For completeness, when I ran The Gathering Storm we have a Sigmarite priest.)

we have a birght wizard who is very happy about the birght order POD and we have a myrmidia priest, so of course we would like to see more for that side.

We don't currently have any kind of spellcaster. Even when we do, there's only one. My opinion is that the overly-specialized focus on these print on demand releases is not a very smart idea.

I'd much prefer to see more generic cards, and the same goes for spells.

We currently have a Celestial order wizard in our campaign.

Independently, three of our group (myself included) decided that when our characters die we were going to play Gold Order Wizards!

I had a player who was a Celestial Wizard but he died a horrible death at the hands of some Nurglings but the player replaced him with a Priest of Morr. We linked the death of the first character with the creation of his new Priest in a very cool way but that's long tale. So, to answer the question, one Priest of Morr.

Have a Priest of Morr in group, as of Friday night! Would love a POD expansion - FFG won't want to hear this, but I'm not inclined to spend £40 on Signs of Faith for just 3 extra Morr action cards!

My 4 PCs group has a Priest of Manaan

My 3 PCs group has a Bright Wizard and a Gold Wizard

The two groups I've attempted have both had Grey Wizards. One group had a Sigmarite priest and the other had a Myrmidian priest.

My current campaign has priest of Ranald who loves testing the luck of his fellow PCs. The Priests of Ranald are one group in need of some official attention and love from FFG - as is the cult of Handryk (sp?). Super fun to play and GM for - and WFRP to the core.

It's a Wizard of Light and a Priest of Sigmar (they work about as well together as any wizard can with a Sigmarite).

I want to see a Witch Hunter POD. My last character was an Amber Wizard, and if I was playing that, then I would be here saying AMBER WIZARD.

But i agree, more generic universal PODs would sell more to a wider audience.

In my campaing we have a High Elf Mage spellcaster lengua.gif and a priest of Ranald.

Well we got a bright wizard and a shalya priest (yes he is male! and well they purchased the POD and haven’t yet received it).

The bright mage relay needs the priest for cooling him down, regarding stress he is harvesting at an astonishing speed with his reckless stance. He dishes out some serious damage though with the order-talent but also gathers a lot corruption (he got 3 so far and can hold 8 until it gets messy).

I feel that the Shalya-Priest is a really strong addition to any group both in social and combat scenes and thus always has enough actions to choose from even if he is not fighting/dealing dmg. I relay enjoy that since other RPG´s somehow don’t give healing-classes much more to do then healing but that’s what I love about the WFRP in general, you always have so much to choose from thumbs up

Our current game has an Amethyst Wizard.

Another active game has a Priest of Ulric.

Previous games have seen a handful of Bright Wizards.

At the moment I don't have a spellcaster/priest, but for long time there was a shallyan priest in my group. After a while the player wanted to play more aggressiv, so the priest went away from the group and a witchhunter came to took his place.

I am thinking the Grey Order will be the next POD. But I would be so happy to see a deck of totally crazy Ranald cards. And I would be completely astonished and thrilled to see "A Rough Night at the Three Feathers" appear as a POD when we are all counting on a Priest or Wizard.

I played a Sigmarite priest for a couple of months during our Black Fire Pass campaign. My GM was nice enough to pick up the POD cards for my character. The extra cards were "nice to have" and not "must have" imo. I certainly would not spend the cash for POD when the cards are so specific to a particular order or deity.

Despite running four fairly long campaigns with a total of something like 20 characters between them none of my players have wanted to play a wizard yet. In my most recent campaign I have my first priest (of Myrmidia) but I think that was just the player taking pity on me because he knew I wanted someone to play a priest or a wizard.

We have a Bright Order Apprentice Wizard up and running and a Priestess of Shallya-in-waiting. As such, I have already been sent and received the Bright Order POD from FFG and have ordered the Shallya POD this week and am eagerly awaiting it as a sound investment for one of our players keen to be a long-term healer.

P.S. Would like to add that am new to the concept of POD but love it so far!

We've got a Sigmarite Priest. I think he's rank 4 now, changing careers to Warrior Priest. As a GM I like having a Sigmarite in the group. Motivation's relatively easy and the character adds to social and combat encounters.

The only spellcaster we've had met his end in the Stew in the sewers under Ubersreik. He was a Grey Wizard.

Currently we have a warlock, who would like to study either dark magic or necromancy, but with a total of 7 dark magic spells and 3 necromancy spells he is seriously considering something else. (chaos magics no good either as it lacks any of the rank 4/5 spells) I would also like to see spells/prayers for skaven, waagh, khaine, hendrick, stromfels, and Gunndred.

As nice as extra abilities for the normal orders and faiths are surely we should have more complete listings for the above first?? Just my thoughts.

In our previous game we had a bright wizard and no preist. In our current game we have a disciple of Sigmar, and an apprentice Gold Wizard. There is a slight difference in exp from people not showing up every time and out of career advances.

In my group of 5 PC's, 6 games deep, We have a Grey Wizard and a Priest of Sigmar.

Supported by a Wood Elf Waywatcher, Trollslayer and Thief/now Agent

My group I GM for seems to be allergic to the idea of having a healer… We have (had) two mages, gold and amethyst. I play a priest of Verena in my other group, which has a fire wizard. I'm less the spiritual council and more the legal council.
