I saw that the game had resin models at the cons where it is being previewed. Will the Resin models be available in small quantities for those of us that would like to customize the paint jobs?

I doubt these were actually in resin.

The plastic used for X-Wing ships has a very similar color (light grey, with a hint of yellow). But it would make little sense to have the models cast in resin. Thin parts would be very brittle, with stuff like gun barrels not being feasible for handling, provided they would survive past the mould. And the amount of detail they're able to put into plastic is adequate already, given the models are all multi-part by design.

What I'd love to get are unassembled models, still on their sprues. There's often flash painted over, and glue sticking out, making repaints a pain. Plus some areas are hard to reach without snapping off certain bits first.
