So the deadline to sign up for this, per previous communications, is slowly creeping up on us. I have not heard anything about March's tournament and according to my Night Watch he has not been able to sign up for it yet.
Anyone else worried?

We haven't run a Hedge tourny in NYC, but from what I've seen of the tournaments posted on the organized play site, they've been more popular than the League. Might just be an oversight. Paul is the person at FFG overseeing the tournaments and is good about responding to emails; you or your Night's Watch might want to email him.
Thanks for the reminder! Don't know what the pin will be, but I have liked the last two.
We still play thrones pretty regularly as casual and league, but with a few exceptions instead of the Saturday night tourneys we end up playing BSG instead.
What about regional tournaments. Anyone hear if any of those are going to happen anytime soon?
Might be that no one has registered to host one yet.
Also, for other Night's Watch members, how do you figure out SoS and Rating?
JJ, regarding SoS/rating, I added a post in the thread you started about running Leagues.

Yeah, I saw that. Made my head hurt lol. Though we're still using, in a way, arbitrary ratings as I don't know how FFG wants us to score them. And the lack of tourney software to give us these numbers doesn't help much. I think I prefered the old system, and the ELO rankings, and perhaps a different way to report the league results.

Heh. Well, I'm a lawyer by day *and* anal about pretty much everything, so I may have gone overboard.

What were ELO rankings? (I wasn't playing the game when there was a prior OP program.) And are you reporting league results to FFG as you go along? The impression I got from reading the League information was that results were reported at the conclusion of the season.
Well, if you sign up weekly League nights (like I did), you have to report something. But the reporting form isn't well desgined to provide the league results information.
ELO ranking are the same system Magic uses. In the old system you'd first enter the username of each player for the tournament, then do a round by round win/loss entry. Each round player stats would update. One thing that it did do was create a form of competition among our meta -- one guy wanted too be #1 in the State in Classic format, and made the best Classic deck he could. During Winter I ran a nasty Night's Watch deck, and the other players kept trying to beat me to knock me out of the top 5 (which eventually did happen). We never worried to much about national ranking, but in-state we got to know some of the other active metas at the time, and used the rankings as a measure of how we compared to them.
Yup, I really loved the good old days when you could see all of the registered players in your city, state, or world. It really brought something extra to the game when we could really easily see how things were going and jockey for position amongst ourselves. I'd greatly like to see a return of that system.
Sign ups are now up and the deadline is going to be extended. Tourney of the hand is the name, don't know the house
Where has it been announced and extended. How are they contacting the Night's Watch. I'mapproved,my store is in the system, but I have seen zero communication what-so-ever from FFG on anything. Even my acceptance waswithout notice. Do I have to go to a special page daily to see if something is going on?
they said they will have an annoucement up soon (~like in the next year i think). I only know about becuase i e-mailed them directly and then my NW followed up and regged the tourney.

I only knew about it thanks to this thread -- no other contact, sadly.
I assume you know where to find the Organized Play link on the support page. That's about the only place to find info, and hopefully on time.
**Sigh**
~I'm so glad the organized play program is up and running again and FFG is working so hard to make it a success.
OK, for those mortals that can't find the link what is the SOS and where are the ratings?

I pretty much make them up. Seriously. I have absolutely no idea how to come up with the numbers. I usually rate them 1-X, where X is number of players and 1 is first place. As for SoS, I do the oppoosite, but on a smaller scale, unsually 1-3, with 3 being the stronger scheudle, middle players all get 2 and last place gets 1.
I don't think there ever was a link about that information. Not to mention that the form is the same used for UFS, and I could never figure that one out correctly either.
On the plus side, at least we are getting the House Pins.
That last part about the pins was a joke right? If not, I want my pins! They look cool!

You havent' got the pins? I've gotten both the Lannister and Greyjoy pins, and they are sweet. And, the thing I find the most interesting is that whenever I schedule the Official Event, none of my players show up, so I run one person events. Like this last weekend, I had several people tell me on Friday they were going to play on Saturday night. Then, an hour before th event began the guys decided that instead they wanted to go to someone else's house and play video games. Which gave me an auto-win, I guess. Glad that Nate didn't make the drive up, as he would have been disappointed.
Signup deadline for the Hedge Tournament for March (Baratheon pins) has been extended --see posting on FFG's front page.
Is it the same than "The Hand Tournament" but with another name?
I tried to sign up to it, but I can“t since I have already a March Hedge Tournament.
Thanks
Wait.... Lannister pins?!??!

Febuarary's prie. ~Want me to send you a picture? ![]()
Umm............ ok. Somehow Missouri completed missed out on this information. All we've had so far is Greyjoy. I asked Jason at the store last night if he'd ever seen anything about Lannister pins and a Hedge tournament in between Greyjoy and Baratheon. He hadn't seen or heard anything. How did we miss this? How did I miss out on the only one I gave a crap about? *sigh*
Anyone willing to sell me one?
I actually lied, it was janurary's prize. I remember it being called the tourney of Casterly Rock. I can;t find the news blurb, but it was in one of the first ones about the new OP in general. We signed up for it when we first signed up for our league (the first time, not in the extended time)
