It's a shame that there isn't a way for players to get to this info.

there is: app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/

I would agree that when money has come in for a support kit, like with the Storyline Leagues, the obligation carries a heavier weight because you have essentially created a sales contract. Maybe it's just my rose-colored-glasses view of the world, though, but reneging on the "verbal contract" of the Hedge Tourney system is no more tolerable to me. When someone gives their word, they should follow through - sale or no sale.

There actually is a way for people to search events without registering as a NW or host. The link is:

http://app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/index.shtml

The part that blows my mind is that you apparently have to just know that this is there; I have yet to see an organized play link anywhere on the site for players rather than organizers.

Yes, consider my mind equally blown that there is not a link to that page from the "Community" subsection of AGOT's minisite.

As to why AGOT OP might not be getting a whole lot of love at this moment, I just did a search of tournaments for the three available products on that page, UFS, AGOT, and CoC. For March 24-April 30, here are the tallies:

UFS: 716

AGOT: 33

CoC: 2

I'm guessing that UFS having so many events for that period is at least in part due to the anniversary push (plus it's a true CCG, so I'd expect it to run higher than the LCGs anyways). If there's only one or two people at FFG at any given time responsible for OP, they've got their hands full at the moment.

Undoubtedly. But it's a reason, not an excuse.

Thanks guys for putting that link up. I grew tired of searching for the last thread that had the link in it. Why that link is not up on the main AGoT page is mind boggling!

I'll keep my mouth shut on the other issues. It's just better that way.

Has anyone already submitted a report on the missing link to the webmaster? Even if the OP people are too busy and/or disorganized, the webmaster might simply be unaware.

Thats what bookmarks are for ;)

but yeah, it should be up somewhere.

Arma, if i know how to submit said report i would.

I just submitted the following bug report to the webmaster:

It's very difficult for players of A Game of Thrones LCG to find information on local organized play. Your pages http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=10&esem=3 and http://new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_minisite_sec.asp?eidm=10&esem=4 both contain a link that is labeled "FFG Organized Play Website," but this link only takes users to a password-protected page. We suggest directing that link to http://app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/ instead.

In addition, you should be aware that there is a recursive link on the page http://app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/. Specifically, in the center section near the top of the page, there is a link labeled "Search," but this link reloads the page instead of directing the user to one of the two different "Search" options that are in the sidebar on the left.

I could have written more ("Please rewrite the whole section on organized play...") but I wanted to limit my suggestion to changes that were definitely in the webmaster's authority alone. We'll see if it does any good. [shrug]

FYI, the feedback form can be found at new.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_atencion.asp.

Ah, good. I sure hope that helps things.

For anyone wondering, FFG was kind enough get some Lannister pins sent down to Metagames here, so while we are a bit behind, we haven't completely missed out. How incredibly glad I am for that.

Thats great to hear, Kennon. Now I'm just keeping my eyes peeled to make sure we don't miss the month for the only pins I give a crap about! (Targaryen.) :-) Here's to hoping its next months.

The Targ pins are for April. If you are really worried, I would suggest contacting FFG directly. There is a CONTACT link pretty much at the bottom of every page on this site -- that you do the trick for you.

Thanks, JJ. Where did you get the info that the Targ pin is for next month? I'd love to actually be able to keep track of whats going on. :-) And yeah, I'm not especially worried we won't get them or anything... but we are still waiting for the Baratheon pins as far as I know, and the tournament is scheduled a week from this Tuesday. Erik has been a good contact via e-mail so far, so maybe I'll drop him a note again.

When I got the March Bara pin I also got the Targ pins, and a note apologizing for the delays in prize support, and that the April support was shipping at the same time.

Greetings,

Is there a link somewhere that posts where the monthly hedge tournaments are held? I do not have a store in town, but would be willing to drive a couple hours to attend a tournament.

Credit goes to others on the forum for finding this poorly publicized link:

app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/index.shtml

Use the navigation bar on the left to start your search.

I don't know if it's an exhaustive list, but it's possible to get something from FFG's web site if you know where to look. Believe it or not, this link is (as far as we can tell) completely orphaned within FFG's web site: app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/

That page has both a "Search Venues" link and a "Search Tournaments" link. Not everything works properly in the "Search Tournaments" link -- for example, the default results are littered with out-of-date tournaments, and the state filter doesn't seem to work at all.

However -- I was able to create a search that lists all tournaments across the U.S. after April 1. Fortunately for you (and unfortunately for the game) the list is small enough to sort through by hand to try to find something close to where you live:

http://app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/search.shtml?product=5&match=21&name=&month1=4&day1=1&year1=2009&month2=12&day2=31&year2=2011&sanctioned=&city=&state=&country=US&postal=&ACTION=SEARCH&TYPE=TOURN&searchtourn=Search

You'll have to copy and paste that link into your web browser, since the "insert link" command appears to choke on something with an embedded question mark.

Looks like FFG has quietly updated the OP section of the web site. There's a new page (new to me, at least) at app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/agot/.

Equally important, this page is no longer an orphan. I found two links to it: one at the old OP page (which still exists at app.fantasyflightgames.com/op/), and they redirected the link at the main Support page for AGOT, per our request.

It's still a clunky section of the web site, but at least they responded.

EDIT: I just noticed that they added some new OP information to the bottom of the "Community" page, as well. I apologize if this has already been pointed out elsewhere; I've been away from the boards for a couple of weeks, and haven't caught up yet....

I totally missed it, and the fact that the League began March 11th? Well, looks like we missed out on this league.

I could swear that I've been to the sign-up page more recently than early March, but I don't recall any of this info. And I've also noticed that the pdf links on the page all refer to the first league, so perhaps the March 11th date is incorrect, or the league itself never got off the ground. When they annouced the first league, there was alot of hoopla on the website, so perhaps this is still part of the "catch-up" tht they are doing in the hopes of restarting Organized Play.

Anyway, I'm going to make sure I start signing up for events again. I'll have to make up some sort of reminder for me for setting up events, so tht I don't miss out on any in the future.

The litature looks excatly the same as the first league and i don't think they would have tried to sneak a second league past everyone. I think it might just be a 'second opportunity' to get the league in.

I don't even see where it says March 11th. I'd be stunned if it was not just a repeat of the first season for anyone who missed it given that there was absolutely now announcement about it.

I'd be stunned even if it is a repeat. What's the good of a repeat that no one knows about? That doesn't increase your numbers at all.

Really, I hope that it was just some kind of simple goof with the date listing, and not an entire league that I didn't know about. I want all the chances to vote for Tywin that are available.

First Paragraph under the picture from "The Battle of Astapor:"

A Game of Thrones Storylines Leagues lets your results and choices affect the development of the living card game. The second Game of Thrones LCG Storyline League begins March 11th.

As I said, I think this is an older page that needs to be updated. When I registered for my May events, there wasn't even a League option. And I still say that the OP page is horrendous, definitely the worst such page that I have ever had to deal with in regards to scheduling, reporting and "advertising" events. While I love the new site for obtaining informatino about FFGs games, I hate everything presently in place regarding events. I even wish they had a general "Events Finder" so that when we do events like the Arkham League, BSG nights or demos of Tribune or Twilight Imperium (not to mention Thrones, Cthulhu and UFS events) folks could just do a simple click or two and find them.
