Does a challenge including claim need to be satisfied before Lannister Pays His Debts is played?

Example: Lannister player has one character up. Opponent does military. Lannister player loses. Claim satisfied first? Or can they kneel their character to initiate the event before killing their character?

Claim is settled first. However, the character you killed remains Moribund and can be used to pay for the event.

Actually, you've got this very same example in the FAQ. You might be interested in peeking at them since many things can only be found there.

However, if the challenge is intrigue, the claim happens before you get the opportunity to play A Lannister Pays His Debts, so there is a risk that the event is discarded from your hand before you can use it.
