FFG Folks,

Thanks!

Its just minis for LT and another chance of them to grab some fast bucks.

Click on the link and you get the whole lot of them with a smattering of flavour text.

Good for all those who were moaning about Lieutenants and avatars not being included in RtL have their opportunity. Personally I had Alric Farrow slain after three turns in my current campaign. I'd be furious if I'd paid a tenner for that much use or if they'd upped the cost of the expansion to include them.

Yeah but $10-$15 each? Come on.

I would buy the set, if say the whole set was $19.95 but not $10 for one figure.

$115 for the whole set is pretty steep....

Maybe if they release a pack with a quest book to intergrate them in vannila ?! ...or even better...I sense PVP !

IF, and I mean a big if, I decide to get these I will:

1) Only buy whatever Farrow ones are available at the start.

2) Order them through my local store so I'm only paying $8 instead of $10.

3) Then berate myself for actually buying them.

There's not a single reason that these were made pewter apart from profit really. Every other mini in the game is plastic, so why the switch? Don't they do marketing research on things like this?

.... I was dreaming of those figures but.... I think I will continue to use my cardboard tokens...... llorando.gif

Xandria here has warhammer minis. That Aekold Hellbras with his HUGE zweihander is more than appropriate to represent Alric.

We can use D&D minis too! I find minis for all the lieutnants and Avatars...

Honestly these are a niche buy and only the die hards are going to spend the money on them. I personally was hoping they would make these and I am willing to pay the money for them because I am a fan of the mythos and the game. They are not needed so why complain about it? Either you buy them or you don't or use something different as some have already said. I know I am sold on them. Cannot wait for their release. I will as per the norm. Paint them up and even post some pics for folks to see. :P

I thought they were cool when I saw them on the upcoming page, but for that price, I could buy 2 or possibly 3 other beefy board games. Also, being pewter makes them inconsistent with the rest of the game, so I'm happy to pass unless plastic versions release at some later time.

After a price conversion, these figures are around the going rate for high-quality, western-made 30mm metals.

I'll likeley pick them up, mostly for added spankiness, and partially for aid with my player with poor eyesight.

Then all we need is a set of uber-mosters for the Avatars...

I'm guessing that should these things sell they would be followed by the remaining lieutenants and then the Avatars.

Just guessing, though... or is it more wishful thinking? happy.gif

It would be nice if they could be bought as a complete set for slightly less than the individual price. I'm (again) guessing that the reason they are being sold individually is because not everyone will find a use for all of the lieutenants. A campaign of Descent for the casual players is going to see what 4-5 lieutenants at best? This way said players can buy the ones they are definitely going to use. But for the collectors out there (in here) a complete set would be nicer.

5 at best. There are 3 standard and 1 or 2 avatar specific ones each. I hope a sequel to RtL varies up this list, but keeps the 5 Lt limit because any more and the map would be too crowded.

I'd rather see a unique master figure of each monster type for those rare moments where you have a named master next to a normal master. Something like a really awesome demon to stand next to the master one, ect. It'd make named monster more identifiable and impressive looking

That's what I want to see when I say "Avatars". These would work on many, many levels.

Painting pewter figures. I have problem all my pewter figures are nuzzle ( color worn - down ). Plastic was for me better material on painting. So, if they were non-painted could someone help me what technique and colours can I use. Thanx

Aslong as you give them a proper undercoat, they paint just the same. The difference is that metal is easier to clean up than vinyl plastics.

The thing to do is, like Slev said, give them a good undercoat. If they're also seeing a lot of use, put a clear-coat on them afterward.

Personally I'm happy to see the minis come out for the leutenants. As for the price, they're reasonable for metal minis... As for metal vs. plastic, metal minis are more cost-effective when made in smaller runs. Since they weren't sure how many people would purchase the minis, this is obviously the way to go.

Really, for the amount of use lieutenant minis would see in-game, it didn't make sense to provide minis with the RtL box. It adds a lot of cost to the set without much benefit to the players. And as for the set that gives you a discount for buying all of them... I like the idea, but I think the number of people who would take them up on that would be limited. After all, most OL players will likely favour certain avatars over others, so would get no use whatsoever out of certain models in the set. I could understand doing it if all LTs were available to all avatars, but not otherwise. On the other hand, a three-pack of the Farrows... That would be sound marketting strategy ;-)
