Axis and Allies 350 point lists

By Guest, in Dust Warfare

So I put together two lists that pretty much contain my whole collection (for now, lol) as me and my brother are going to have a 350 point game this weekend. All the models are mine but we will decide who will get which army by a roll-off and then choose our list from there. I have put together a list for each ahead of time so that when the roll-off is done and sides finalized, I don't have to make a list, I will just pull out the appropriate list. So here are the list I came up with:

Allies

Platoon 1 (combat Platoon) 155 AP

  • command section- "The Boss"
  • 1st section- "The Gunners" + bazooka upgrade
  • 3rd section- "Tank Busters"
  • 4th section- "Death Dealers"
  • Support- "Steel Rain"
  • Additional Resources (Platoon upgrade)

Platoon 2 (Elite Platoon) 120 AP

  • command section- "Corps Officers"
  • 1st section- "The Hammers" + "Rhino" (Hero)
  • Support- "Pounder"

Platoon 3 (Assault Platoon) 71 AP

  • command section- "Hell Boys"
  • 1st section- "BBQ squad"
  • Support- "Blackhawk"

Axis

Platoon 1 (Sturmgrenadiere Platoon) 125 AP

  • command section- "Kommandotrupp"
  • 1st section- "Battle Grenadiers" + Panzerschrek upgrade
  • 3rd section- "Recon Grenadiers"
  • Support- "Lothar" walker
  • Additional support- "Beobachter" team
  • "Implacable" (Platoon upgrade)

Platoon 2 (Schwer Platoon) 95 AP

  • command section- "Lara" (Hero)
  • 1st section- "Heavy Flak Grenadiers"
  • Support- "Ludwig" walker

Platoon 3 (Blutkreuz Platoon) 127 AP

  • command section- "Sturmpioniere" squad
  • 1st section- "Heavy Laser Grenadiers"
  • Support- "Hans" walker
  • Additional support- "Sniper Grenadiers"
  • Extra Panzer Support (Platoon upgrade) = "Heinrich" walker

So those are the list I came up with based on my limited army building experience. I have only had the Dust Warfare book for a few days.

Which army would you rather use? I am leaning towards choosing Axis if I win the roll-off just for the extra walker support but the Allies seem to have their strengths as well… but again, I am not very experienced with games of dust warfare yet… Also, If there are any players in the Toronto area, please send me a message and we can play some games. I have a gaming table with a carrying bag and could travel…

I'd go with the axis. The Spec Ops teams being what would swing it for me.

axis, but you can trim some points by using only 2 platoons. your spending points to get extra walkers when you can just get it for free with more sections in on platoon. also why 350?

Thanks for the reply. As I said, I am still new to the army building in dust warfare. If you could please show me how I could use these units to get 4 walkers in the army with just 2 platoons, or even with 3 platoons without having to use a platoon upgrade to get it, it would be appreciated. Even if I proxy the Sturmpioniere for recon grenadiers, I still don't see how 4 walkers are possible. I would still be 1 section short… The only thing in my axis collection that is not on the list is the heavy panzer and that wouldn't change the problem. What am I missing here? How can 2 platoons achieve this?

As to why 350… why not? It seems a good number and if the armies used every single mini I have it would max out around 450ish (I have a heavy walker for each not on the lists) if it were possible to take the heavy walkers for each side, although the allies could do it with 3 platoons without using the platoon upgrade (which they don't have access to anyway). While we could play smaller, 200 points just doesn't do it for me… not big enough… not enough stuff for my tastes. Plus I hate leaving half my collection on the shelf and the collection is only going to get bigger so I'm sure I will be going 500+ games soon enough. I really like this game and love the miniatures and I have all this extra cash since divorcing myself from GW products which ate money like crazy.

Between the ebay sales of my GW armies (I had 16 of them, down to 8 of them once the 2 ebay listings I have up right now end, lol) and just saving on the fact that this stuff is cheaper (even after buying absurd amounts of Star Wars minis in a month… like a thousand dollars worth in a month… soo many that they barely fit on the 6'4' table all jammed on with the scenery on the floor when a thousand buck at GW barely gets you one decent army and certainly wouldn't completely fill a 6'4') I still have paypal money to burn gained from selling off overpriced GW stuff. While I could just pick up a couple more boxes that doesn't get me less platoons or points and I am really waiting for the SSU line to be more fully realized before buying SSU stuff and so I will wait. If they release airborne units and tracked tanks and trucks, etc., I'm sure 750- 100 point mega games will happen too :) Unfortunately, Battlefield Evolution models are the wrong size, and the wrong style for this game so I will wait with baited breath for FFG to release more units once they get the SSU all sorted out. I have no doubt that new units will arrive soon enough as this stuff is flying off shelves. I am constantly seeing my new favorite non-GW store sell out of dust boxes… but I also see them being restocked again really quickly, so kudos to FFG. And I know a lot of gamers that are just starting to hear about this so I'm sure this game will only get more popular!

Wow, did I ever ramble on… I will stop now :)

yeah i hear ya on the 40k stuff, i have a 4 3x5 shelves of just minis that are put together, i tend to collect and paint and never get to play with some stuff… ill be cleaning out a bunch of stuff here soon too but painting it b4 ebay.

300 is supposed to be the tourney standard from what i understand. At 4 sections you get 2 support units plus sniper/observer team w/command unit so… you could do something like:

25pts - Command

25pts - section 1

25pts - section 2

25pts - section 3

25pts - support 1

25pts - support 2

Using a character for command ro lower cost sections will add points to each support slot if you want med or heavy walkers. For example using Battle Grs w/extra rockets will give you 15 extra pts, 24 w/o extra rockets to swap a light for a med walker. But with some simple tinkering you can find a good balance. Start by asking yourself what walkers you want to use and then pick infantry that will complement them. I start with the walker because they are the big expensive units.

here is an example of 169pt platoon built around some walkers with a specific function in mind:

Commandotrupp

Recon G

Recon G

Battle G

Lothar

Lothar

beobatcher

platoon upgrade "defences"

Dig in your observers in a forward position and direct the lothars fire onto vehicles and fast moving troops, then us the RecG and BatG to finish things off with reactions when they make it up to your position. Use Bliz order to adjust a lothar if you need better position. When things make it up within 36' the lothars can reload/fire directly and if you can sustain fire on vehicles for 6 dice. your command can us medic/mechanic to smooth things along.

Note: the neblewafferawsomesaucea…. is spray so it is unaffected by "limited visibility" so shoot for 0 or 2 in conditions for you scenario, both help to limit return fire and/or slow things down.
