Quick, easy, inexpensive way of making custom mini cases for your Dust figures and walkers.

For the figures I used Plano single pistol cases, available at farm & fleet stores as well as online for under $8

For the walkers a Plano double pistol case also from farm & fleet for a little over $15

Then I purchased a copper pipe fitting. You want a 1" fitting to make the holes for the 30mm bases. Mine shown has a 1" & 1 1/4" end.

Then fit your dremel tool with a grinding attachment and use it to grind away at the inside of the 1" end to make a sharp cutting tool out of it. The sharper you can get it the easier the next step will become.

The just use this tool to cut your foam. Since the cases come with 2 pieces of eggshell foam, I simply cut my holes in the depressions on one side then choose depressions on the opposite piece that lined up in between the holes cut in the 1st piece. In this way the figures on the 2 sides do not hit each other, and there is no problem closing the case.

So far the only figures this doesn't work for are the Hy. Laser Grenadiers, Hy. Recon Grenadiers, 2 of the 3 figures in the Hy Kommandotrupp, Lara and the German flame thrower figure. I'll have to cut larger custom holes for them in my next case.

For the larger case I used an electric carving knife to cut the 80mm holes for the walker bases.

How many Heavy Walkers can you get into one of those cases (specifically, the Allied Fireball/Punisher)?

The double pistol case will hold 12 light or medium walkers or 2 fully assembled heavy walkers with 3 light or medium ones. If your willing to take the gun barrels off the german heavy walker then it's possible to get either 4 heavies in or 2 heavies with 6 mediums.

I made a case using the original core set box and some foam. It holds 9 walkers and 98 infantry.
