Oberon here, and I have of course ordered it.

I must admit to be a little underwhelmed with the amount of "Vampires" we get, since they used the words and imagry a bit in promoting this. Why even bother calling a new character Vampire Hunter, when there are now only, technically 3 vampires in the whole game

1 of them being the Tower on the Inner Region, so most players may not encounter til later, if at all.

And to only repeat the Vampire from the Dungeon expansion, the Vampire Prince, seems a wasted opportunity to me.

So out of around 500 to 600 or so cards of the regular adventure deck, now we have 1 that is a Vampire? Sigh, maybe future expansions will add some?

Now, don't get that I don't get the "balance" aspects, but I think maybe 2 vamps, maybe 3 could have been considered, since there seem to be a number of Wolves/wolfen added.

And as said in a previous thread, why not a Queen of Vampires who can summon or direct other Vamps or Undead to a space or situation?

On the other hand, do all Vampires have to be Princes or Nobles; why not your generic vamps running around the area?

Does anyone know what the Night Carriage is? Does anyone remember I speculated a "Midnight Carriage" that could kidnap or rendition players to the Vamp's Tower?

Does anyone know what the Twilight Forest will be?

Okay, still excited to play, just wanted more freakin' vampires!

I am also a bit disappointed that i see no skeletons or zombie's in this expansion. ( except a zombie dragon.. mmm)

FFG did mention undead in their news pages… sigh..

@Oberon

You are right, that there are to less vampires in this expansion.

A normal vampire from second edition or a vampire queen could at least be included:)

Anyway, i am still excited about this expansion.

Yup, I see that too, Velhart.

On the other hand it does look like there are some creepy unknown commodities there. Some of the lunar event names are intriguing, even if they seem like possible repeats:

All Hallows Eve

Fright Night

Witching Hour

Night of the Pumpkin King

all seem to have "the meme". I suppose they could be rather different. FRight Night? Well the movie was about vampires, so maybe….

-oberon

If i look to the card list, then i see a lot of weak enemies..

From the 36 enemies, there are only around 10 enemies very strong.

But of course, we don't know yet what for abilities they have.

We must not forget that the frostmarch has give us already a lot of weak enemy cards. From the 28 enemies, they were only around 7 strong.

I don't know what to say about this..

Hi Oberon,

I like the whole idea from the lunar events.

I am already happy to see 18 events, which 16 of them are lunar events:)

They can stay for a long time in the game i think.

It's nice to see that we also get a lot of strangers and places:)

I wonder what all the cards can do.

I hope that some of them are very nasty hehe:)

Funny, I see that the Doomsword is included in this expansion, which is a retro card from talisman third edition gran_risa.gif

I am not sure of the rules for spoilers on this board, but card spoilers are ahead.

Night Carriage [stranger]: If it is Day, roll 1 die and move the Carriage that many spaces clockwise. / If it is Night, immediately move to any other space in this Region; then discard this card.

Twilight Forest [Place]: If it is Day, flip the Time Card to Night; then discard this card. / If it is Night, roll 1 die and draw that number of Adventure Cards. Place 1 Adventure Card of your choice on this space and then discard the rest.

The Sepulchre Spectre card ended up being a strong card given our circumstance despite being only Craft 1. We had the Craft 10 Heavenly Host on the board which is a spirit, and the Sepulchre Spectre card moves all Spirits in every Region to the space in which it was drawn. This required my Gladiator to lose two lives, first by fighting Craft 11 spirits on one turn and then two turns later I drew the other Sepulchre Spectre card and essentially had to fight Craft 12 spirts.

I think that the effect from the day and night on the Night carriage only matters when you land on the card.

So the Night carriage can still be on the board if it is night, and if you don't land on it.

It's a funny card.

This place card is pretty good if you draw this in the night.

But if it is day, then you have bad luck:)

These sound very awesome and deadly! I think even without a "vat of vampires", this is going to be some challenging situations.

I like what I am hearing, thanks to the fellow players! - Oberon

Oke, that can make it interesting.

A Sepulchre Spectre can be very strong if there are already spirits in every region.

The Bride - Follower

This card is the first card that allows a character to attack in psychic combat!

Peasant Mob - Stranger

Better not meet these if you are a Lycanthrope - you are killed!

Cool!

We have finally a card that allows you to attack in psychic combat :)

The Peasant Mob looks dangerous…

You can better stay away from it, but the one who draws the card is maybe not so lucky:)
