Treachery -> Urgency -> too many threats?

By Aamaxu, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

My friend claimed that with the treachery card "Urgency", after discarding the top 2 cards each turn the OL gets the threats as if "had discarded from his hand". Is this correct? What's the official ruling?

The answer already is in your question. if the cards are discarded as from the hand so the OL gets threat as normal. Check FAQ if there is any exepction, but i dont think so.

But the thing is, I do not know if they are discarded as if from the hand or does this make an exception;

The card says;

"Discard 2 overlord cards from the top of the overlord deck each turn after drawing cards."

I mean, it could be interpret both ways IMO.

yea read the FAQ, no it doesn't.

Indeed. But, there is one treachery card that is one-shot, discards the top cards and gives you threat, IIRC. But the Power card simply makes your deck cycle faster.

But it IS in the Gathered List of Answered Questions thread.

Does Urgency generate threat?
Urgency's discarded cards do not generate threat.

edroz exactly my point.

To be honest, I'm not sure how anyone can think the OL should receive the threat. That would be so overpowered. You'd be cycling your deck faster AND receiving on average twice the threat each turn. Yeah, no.
