Tree new lieutenants!

By Facepalm2, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

I would love to see a Dragon Hybrid as a monster. Also, the preview stated that certain of the old lieutants will be brought forward into 2nd Edition. Another side note, a sub-heading in the article says Enemies and Allies. Could Zachareth be an ally to the heroes instead of an enemy. Very intersting stuff here. Limited information but there will be lots of speculation I've sure.

I've been waiting for dragon hybids since the 1st expanion came out.

Ya, I hope this doesn't count as the article for the week! I want to see how these guys will be integrated into the game! There's lots of possibilities here. Do we face them all in one campaign or does the overlord pick one? I am thinking that maybe the baron starts off as a reason for some of the missions, and maybe at the interlude he reveals his real side and becomes an enemy. And yes I'd love to paint me some dragon hybrids!! A lot of the announced units have been run of the mill for the most part, got goblins zombies, dog wolf thing, and the healer. I'm curious as to what the remaining 3 are. I assume dragon hybrids and a dragon will be two. What will the last one be?? Im hoping for another big one, though we will probably get an Orc shaman.

Are these being done by Cypher Studios as well? I would prefer some continuity in the minis. For that matter, were the Sea of Blood minis done by them as well?

With the campaigns being shorter and the assumed lack of an overland map, I'm struggling to see how these lieutenants will be integrated - at least to the degree they were in the first AC. I hope there's more to them than them appearing in different encounters. I love the way they had teir own things to do in the previous AC - sacking cities or collecting items on behalf of the overlord.

Looks like lieutenants will more than likely be part of the quests. For instance, a Fat Goblin will most likely culminate in fighting Slig. Can't wait to see how they're fully integrated though.

What a tease! They don't even show us the actual miniatures.

Maybe Zachareth will switch sides depending on how well the heroes or OL do on the missions??? Example: If the heroes save a town or something they will get Zachareth on their side. That is until the OL wins a certain level then he goes over to the dark side. Just a thought.

Haha just noticed my spelling mistake in the title! And ya, I just hope they have a more important role then the named monsters had in 1e. Maybe they'll have a bit of a story with them. Do you think their stats will be on standard cards? Or hero character sheet size?

My guess is standard monster cards.

Hero sheets due to their size and thus bigger cost and little bit difficuilt handling are not so good idea :) Some story around them could be in quest description but heroes dont have it so why Lties :)

But if Fat Goblin Lt. is our "Fat Goblin" from Fat goblin quest, then some kind of story will be present :)

I found this on the about page.. Interesting.. Seems we were right about the baron.

An enthralling story-driven experience, Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition pits Terrinoth’s greatest heroes against the machinations of the mysterious overlord. When the heroes arrive at the once idyllic barony of Rhynn, they find it imperiled by a rising tide of ferocious monsters and foul magics. But can they unravel the true horrors behind these alarming assaults?

any painted pics of the availabel lutinants .

No, they're not available yet. You could maybe find pics of the three Farrow figures that were also part of 1E, but I'm not sure they've even got the others sculpted yet. ANd I've seen nothing at all about a Valyndra mini from LOTW yet, either.
