keywords and house specific keywords

By sigmarite, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hello,

although it's completely clear when stealth, renown and ambush is used, I have problems understanding when exactly during challenge resolution other keywords (deadly, vengeful, vigilant) is used. like passive abilities? responses?

Thanks for help.

Keywords happen whether you want them to or not. So Deadly, Vengeful, and Vigilant will all resolve as passives.

Note that for Vigilant and Vengeful, the passive effect gives you the choice of whether to stand each of your characters with the keyword or not.

Cards. Vigilant and Vengeful are not limited to characters. There are attachments and locations that possess them as well.

Sorry, quibbling over details, I realize, but I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression.

I stand (or sit) corrected.

This may be a noobish question as I truly am one to game, but it is clear the rules on this are vague;

I understand the icons on each card's text refer to the house they belong to, but my question is in regards to the ability of one house to use another house's keywords on a card they may control. for Ex: The unique character Jaqen H'ghar- F43 - Clash of Arms - Chapter 3 - contains all 6 House Specific keywords. When used in a House Stark deck, does he retain the keyword abilities of the other Houses, or does he only retain the keyword of the specific house he belongs to at the time? For Ex: with a House Stark Deck, he can only take advantage of the Stalwart keyword, and when it is connected with House Lannister, he can only use Infamy. Is that correct? or does he have access to all House Keywords when with any deck?

This is one of my last stumbling points, please help.

"House specific" means that the keywords will only be found on cards belonging to that House. There is absolutely no limitation on what players can do with those cards. So it doesn't matter what House the player has once the game starts - so long as the character has the keyword, it can be used.

Thanks - that makes for a pretty powerful card.

Stupid powerful. Small wonder it's banned. gran_risa.gif

As for the overall timing of each House keyword, each 'takes effect' at the time it applies (if the necessary conditions are met): Vigilant and Vengeful as passives after challenge resolution; Stalwart and Infamy as replacement effects; Intimidate during challenge resolution; and Ambush as an Any Phase: action.
