New GoT LCG player, old GoT CCG player

By keltheos, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Having stopped playing the CCG a looong time ago and avoiding the LCG for as long as I could, I recently picked up the boxed set and the Greyjoy expansion box (the 3 copies version).

A couple questions for anyone who can help:

1. The rulebook that came with my box is different than the store's demo copy rulebook (the ads are different anyway), and is more recent (based on the list of champions in the back) than the PDF rulebook online. What should I know about the rules? I'm downloading the FAQ document today.

2. Purchase suggestions? I'll pick up the Martell box here at some point, but was wondering where the good expansion arcs are. Which would you suggest, either as arcs or packs within arcs, to give me some additional spread of cards (I'll probably be the one with the cards for our play group)? I'm not planning on rebuying everything, but would like a bit of variety here and there.

3. How can I make a 'starter' deck for Greyjoy that compares with the four starter packs in the core set? Anyone know how they should line up?

4. Lastly, are there some 5+ player variants out there?

Thanks!

I don't know if they ever updated the CS rulebook's rules text. All I ever saw was different ads.

You can play 5- or 6-player games with the normal rules without problems. The games tend to be chatotic and very long (especially when there are lots of players who are new to the game/don't know the cards), but it's entirely possible.

Our group usually go for a 2v2v2 when we get 6 gamers to the table.
A little bit less chaos and more focus that way.

Awesome, thanks for the tips, guys!
