Need suggested effects for Aging

By Emirikol, in WFRP Rules Questions

What should the effects be on abilities from aging:

Mature - Where everyone starts

Old

Venerable

If a person was taken from Mature down to Child, what would those effects be?

jh

the gathering storm has examples for elderly NPCs. they simply add 2 misfortune dice to physical statistics.

I actually gave this a bit of thought at one time, when I considered running a game where the players got to roleplay some important events in their characters childhoods to define the characters better.

Making it up as I type it, I'd go for something like this:

Make the character as normal, that's how he will be at late teens/early 20s.

Detract 1 from each attribute and remove all Skills and Talents. That's the character at childhood.

I never considered older character, because that's what EXP represents.

From the way you're asking, I'm betting you're doing something where the characters are turned old or young? In that case, I'd probably do this:

Young: No skills are trained.

Old: All skill checks get 1 Fortune Dice. Stance meter looses one Reckless Space and gains a Conservative Space.

In addition, give the characters a pool of negative attributes they have to distribute. For example:

Pre-Teen: -6

Teen: -4

Past Prime: -2

Old: -4

Invalid: -8
