I really wish that more of the game components used text rather than just artwork, colors and symbols in place. The art is nice, but a bit of text in a few more places would really help. I hate the location cards being denoted only by color and images in the back sides. I’d love a small block of text that said what neighborhood it for, particularly River Town, East Town and Sough Side that have very similar colors. I wish the monsters had a descriptive word to tell about their movement such as “fast”, “unmoving”, etc printed on them rather than just a border color. Shud’Mels collapse markers… the name of the area would be nice rather than a picture the size of a dime. Grrrrr
My only complaint with Arkham
While the location cards and monster borders are fine by me, it would have been nice if the closed markers and Shudde M'ell's destroyed markers had been the same size as a gate token, so they covered the entire location's artwork, instead of blending in and practically disappearing on the board.

I agree with this whole-heartedly.
Personally I don't mind the extensive use of colors. I am color blind, but I haven't had much difficulty with any of the color-related things. I am quite happy that they used primary colors when they could.
The only complaint I have is that the game is to addictive.

Bah, you just need couple of +1 Will Skills, maybe John Legrasse and access to a couple of Clue Tokens and you should pass the check
!
I love this thread - bitching and geekiness in one.
I often get the colours confused because the location card colours don't match those on the board. I also forget the monster movement malarky, even after playing hundreds of games, especially after the clarifcations with them regarding nearby players in squares.
