We are a new meta with no one having played more then a year. As such if there are any experienced player planning on making the trip that would not mind "Judging" it would be much appreciated. I may or may not be able to attend, such is the life of a server, and I'd like to ensure there is someone to help the TO should any rulings come up. He does know the rules overall but doesn't get to play enough to get some of the more complicated interactions.

Hi Scottie. There are a few very experienced DC players coming up who i'm sure could handle any rulings issues that come up.

A couple of the players from Claymont are expecting to make the trip, and we're both fairly comfortable with the rules and have experience TO'ing events. You should be ok. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Thanks guys. I don't find out if I can attend until Thursday and I got fairly apprehensive about who's hands I may be leaving you guys in, rules questions wise.

Not to say I'm 100% on them all anyway.

Just warning you guys that they do run Yugi-oh tournaments on Saturdays so prepare for that crowd. I'd park in the back lot as well

It is a Joust only regional but if it gets over early enough I sure wouldn't mind a melee game.

Also as far as food goes there is a Wawa within a short drive. A cheesesteak, ice cream parlor, and Salad Works all next door. And a bunch of fast food places if you don't mind crossing 4 lanes of traffic.

I'm confused. If you will not be there who will be running the tournament as far as pairings etc….?

Oh don't worry about that I'm sure one of the owners/employees will be handling it. They have programs they use for all manners of card tournaments to handle scoring and pairings. While they are more then capable of running the tournament, rules questions not so much.

Have fun at this guys. Sorry I can't make it - but Rangers-Devils Game 3 commands my attention.

Hop to meet the New Jersey guys soon - either at your store or maybe in NYC. Post here is you ever have a weekend meetup.

My plan is to blog updates throughout the event as time allows over at cardgamedb.

Finals was Stark Winter vs Martell Maesters (though non-traditional) with Stark winning

The field was all Stark and Martell with one Greyjoy and one Lannister, no Bara or Targ out of the 13.

Thanks, Scottie, for helping to put on this regional. The store is a wonder, the tournament was well run, and the local players were a great bunch.

kpmccoy21 has posted the overall stats in his blog in cardgamedb. Click on "blogs" to find it.

From memory:

Swiss results

1. Tom - Martell Maester 4-0 - Tom's deck was fascinating. He seems to be a new, local player, and does not follow the boards. Though he runs what many of us would consider questionable cards, was very effective. I would describe it as maesters the way the designers intended it. He lost to danigral in the finals, but beat him in the swiss.

2. Dan A. (danigral) 3-1 - Regional champ running DC-style Stark Winter

3. Brian A. (hoyaloya) 3-1 DC-style Stark WInter

4. Rich Allison 3-1 Stark Siege - Tullys! He is my meta-mate and had built the deck just before this event. Learned a lot including the need to drop this agenda. Only losses were to Tom

5. Jim M. (myself) 3-1 Martell Maesters - my own build, no netdecking here tyvm.

6. JR 2-2 Lanni PBTT - a meta-mate. JR is an excellent player and has a very good deck imo. It's weakness as he found out was the white raven which he had no way to deal with.

Others:

Jeff 2-2 Martell KotHH

Scottie (yourself :-) ) 2-2 - Greyjoy Maester

Yeah I built a deck I liked against anything but Martell, and played in a tournament with a bunch of Martell.

Tom has been playing his deck since the Maesters cycle came out and it really does play odd compared to a lot of other Maester decks. Same power Martell characters, excluding Maester of the Sun, but a way different event stable. We Light the Way is a really effective card both offensively and defensively. And his deck being able to Val into Conclaves is so gut wrenching.

I'm going to ask if he minds me posting his deck list. I know he won't but courtesy and all.

It was really good to see the guys from NYC and DC. I'm really disappointed at how my deck played all day. I'm not sure if I just got lucky in the 2 weeks I playtested with it leading up to the event or if I just had bad luck Saturday. But thanks to all my opponents for a good time. All 3 games were enjoyable experiences, even if I didn't win.

Thanks to the store for hosting and Scott and Tom for organizing! It's nice to see the east coast growing.

Sorry i missed this. If it weren't for the NHL playoffs being in the afternoon (for some unknown reason) - there would have been at least one Baratheon deck in the field.
