Unique Cards & How they work?

By AmbiguousPackage, in CoC Rules Discussion

I just wanted to make sure I understand how they work.

Unique cards are only unique to my hand?

Only one Unique character can be in play at a given time?

However can you have a unique character and or unique support/event out at the same time?

You can have only one Unique card with the same name in play. So you can't even play a card which would make you have same unique card in play. Your opponent can have same unique card in play as you do.

"You cannot gain control of or play a
unique card if you already control or
own a copy of that card in play."

You can have as many Unique cards in play as you want to. They just have to be different name. There are also two different version of Cthulhu for example and you can't have both in play at the same time.
