New Player Reference - Where do I find Unit X…

By CrayolaSmoker, in Dust Warfare

As someone familiar with miniature wargames but new to Dust (Tactics or Warfare), it took me some time to figure out that while some of the units represented in the book are easily available as standalone boxes, some of them are not. I put together this quick reference for myself, which I thought other new players might also find useful. Each unit is linked directly to the product in the FFG store you'll need to purchase to get the unit in question (you can buy 'em wherever, it was just easiest to reference them here). I've also listed the units in book order to make 'em easier to navigate.

If I'm not mistaken, the two characters that I've got listed as "not currently available" were in the original core set and the "Loth" was a limited run model available at conventions and trade shows. If there are any mistakes or corrections, please let me know. I'll happily update this post.

the loth is currently only as a promo model. It is usualy given out as a tournament prize. Alterativly it can be easily made by modifying a kampfangz.

You can create Loth if you have two medium walkers, the arm is not glued, just pry it with a screwdriver where the joint is and you can change its facing. Just don't brake it, I found out that the guard sits very tight there, so I wouldn't bother taking it out.

Great list.

Also worth mentioning is that the allied Infantry-2 platoons have shared figures. As far as I can tell, the two allied I-2 squads from the core set can be recreated by mixing and matching from the other booster sets. That will leave you with leftover figures, but at least it means an allied I2 force can be reconfigured.

Not so with the allied I3 or any of the axis units, which means I hope they release these as boosters soon. It's fine for a board game, but for a wargame, it sucks to be relying on the core set to get individual pieces, especially for basic units.
